I've played Uncharted 2 after the fw update just fine.

Most likely, something new in this firmware is cpu intensive and constant enough to make some of these PS3s heat up.

I'm not 100% on this. But the PSN version might run somewhat better than playing it on disc. I remember having various speeds of loading depending on the health of my Playstation 1 back in the days.

Totally forgot about this, but you're right. I sinked over 120 hours too in my first play through, and I remember losing patience and using a gameshark or something near the end to level up faster.

Ever played Dragon Quest/Warrior 7? It's my favorite DQ game, simply because it's so much like CT in its usage of time travel affecting storylines.
