Yeah, I think it definitely has an abrasiveness that's usually associated with that NYC sensibility. I haven't heard enough of the show to understand its ups and downs, but your description sounds about right.

Don't try to pit Meredith against me again! Why does everyone have to be on your side all the time? Can't you admit that MAYBE you're wrong every once in a while?
I never said we didn't have any KATG listeners among our ranks—just that we suddenly had way more than had ever spoken up before. Maybe they have been lurking all this time.
It's almost as if most of the people who voted for KATG in the readers' poll don't actually read Podmass.
Yeah, they'll probably appear under "Dropping in," which will be more of a priority. We wanted to have Podmass branch out a bit this year, and the shows we cut were ones where the writers were burning out on the weekly coverage or didn't think they really warranted weekly reviews.
I just FEEL like if you really wanted to keep up with where we are, you'd do it, you know? Doctor, I'm not sure this is helping.
Hey, we told you we'd be gone for this long! Sometimes it's like you're not even LISTENING when we're talking. We were supposed to be working on this!
It sure does: https://myspace.com/dananan…
When I wrote that headline, I was like, "@Ken Munson:disqus will get this."
Post-rock & post-hardcore most certainly exist. Post-ska probably not. But maybe?
It's just pronounced "Bells."
I saw the 1st couple episodes a few months back, and they were great.
Duhhhhhhh. There's always at least one major thing we forget to include on this list every year.
Me too, until I was reading up on the movie ahead of writing this. #themoreyouknow
Right, but I don't think any of the character scenes were shot here.
I don't think they shot any of it here, aside from some of the B-roll of Michigan Avenue and an interior shot of MF's. I don't think any of the Vacation movies shot here, come to think of it.
Hey, that's Mavis Staples singing the theme song, so everyone needs to recognize.
This was studio backlot in LA, actually. Hughes only wrote the script.
I lose it EVERY TIME he says that, and I've seen this movie probably 100 times. So great.
"Why is the carpet wet, TODD?"
