A little on the nose, but since when has that ever disqualified someone from the list? Thanks!

Yeah, I don't know what to make of it. It's getting a lot of spins on SiriusXMU.

I'd rank Red Medicine way higher, but it's all subjective blah blah blah. You can't go wrong in that discography.

Also, "plebeian music taste identified" will be on my tombstone. Thank you.

I like those songs fine, and I don't think I'd want 5 takes on what he's doing with "Less Than" rounding out the EP. I actually think these tracks may all work better together as part of a whole instead of discrete EPs.

I really like the simmer of "The Background World," and I get the idea behind slowly repeating that musical phrase, but I seriously doubt it's anything I'll complete any time I listen to it.

Totally. I would've been into that.

It is truly incredible, especially when paired with Beaster.

Ha, all good. How many concept albums about this can there be? It has to be them, right? But yeah, I could see that if you heard one track. I think the whole package is pretty solid though. There's a fuller review of it in the music section today.

I wouldn't say it's strange for them or that your post was clear, but maybe I'm missing something. I'm not from the UK, so I can't speak to how big of a deal this was when it happened, but I could see it making an impression on you if you grew up there when this was all over the news.

Well, it's not about a mining disaster. It's about the collapse of the *industry*, as it says above. People talking about the trials of the Welsh coal industry in the '80s could be described a lot of ways, but "vapid featherweight peppy pop" isn't one of 'em.

Seconded times one million (and I think Reachin' has a lot of great moments too).

I really like it. It's excellent work music, which I don't mean as a slight even though it undoubtedly sounds like one.

Totally solid. I suggested it for Undercover a few years ago, and I believe Braid covered it.

You can't really go wrong with Converge.

Yeah I occasionally skip "Life In Drag" too, but that album is so, so great.

Those are my two favorites. I love Bivouac's DC post-hardcore vibe. Chris Bauermeister's bass parts on that album are so great.

I was wondering how they sound now—I listened to 'em a bunch back in the mid/late '90s.

Loooove that song.

For sure. That album slays.
