I know it’s a video literally dedicated to other people’s voices but it’s very strange seeing Tim’s prose as type instead of his wacky voice over.

Isn’t she like a giga-celeb now that This is Us is taking off.  Probably she wanted more $$$ than the devs had on hand and let’s all be honest, Mandy Moore doesn’t have a super distinctive voice.  She sounds like a computer program called “White_Girl_Ohio%Nebraska”.

It’s kinda crazy you can definitely see in some of the concentrated areas left over bits from when they were definitely still using wall running.  There are a lot of areas where a clear wall running route is visible.

Now playing

Love everything Glander does. Everyone do yourself a favor and watch the release trailer to hear the amazingly catchy theme song for this game. It’s a masterpiece.

I played this entire game in five days in high school with a friend on a Blockbuster Rental for $7 and got my moneys worth. All I can remember about it now is that I was impressed by how you could move fluid non-linearity of it’s missions (sick of missions fighting mock-triads, come fight mock-LA-urban gangs), and the

We’re gonna live in a world where you throw $1 a month on patreon to newswriters you like so they can afford a can of dog food while Facebook execs become billionaires for finding new ways to monetize cyber-bullying.

I might settle in then for watching a longplay on YouTube instead, which is what I did when my nostalgia for FF7 kicked in randomly one day and I ran into the fact that as an adult, grinding random encounters so you can beat a boss **sucks**.

I gave up on the Sexy Brutale during the first murder mystery bit (put a blank in the gun). Just didn’t click with me.

Do you ever get kickstarter emails from games you backed in like 2012 2013 saying “here’s your code!” and be like “I completely forgot about this!” that or the email says “we gave up”.  Ah the Kickstarter golden age...

the gem, skill tree stuff is annoying at first but once you start upgrading Kratos you start to unlock some moves that really make combat sing and can start stringing together some devastating combos that use thrown axes, shield bashes and all kinds of great moves. Buckle in, it’s a great game that deserved every

I would say about either halfway or 2/3rds into the game the actual story missions get so good in Yakuza 0 you’ll forget to do side missions so muscle through.  I blazed through the last chunk of the game at lightning speed because I had to find out what happens. Sushi hits the fan so to speak.

Even if you’re pretty good at shooters Wolfenstein is tough. I abandoned the first one as there were some legit hard fights that I didn’t find very fun and a lot of other fights (especially against those giant mechs) that I had to cheese to win.

Saints Row had the brave idea of saying “what if instead of focusing on gating off a lot of content so they can have skinner box reactions to unlocking it, we just give them a bunch of stupid overpowered abilites and focus on the fun factor?”.  Really is a shame that the franchise is currently dead in the water.

I loved REmake and if you put the original recipe RE2 above that *and* Resident Evil 4 (the normie fav and thus my obvious fav) I might have to check it out.  Great write up as always Shin.

I have said that I quit Hollow Knight probably ten times in here but this time I mean it! I swear! I beat the *actual* Hollow Knight, got the “bad” ending, beat the hive area, and then looked into what it would take to unlock the “true” ending... and said ‘naw I’m good’.

My takeaway from Hollow Knight is that

Really enjoyed Sunless Sea except for the punishing tilt towards “commercial gaming the system runs” you had to do to be able to afford enough power and supplies to actually explore the interesting bits on the edge of the map.  Still the writing throughout was fantastic and I even got into their browser game for a

Surprisingly close!

Gangbeasts is one of those games you think would lose it’s carm over time but as long as you have other people over to play with it really doesn’t.  (full disclosure I don’t own it but played it at a friends all the time but am about to own now thanks to that tip on the humble bundle so thank you!)

Codename STEAM is still such a weird game I honestly find it hard to believe it exists.  “what if we made an X-Com light but only for 3Ds?” sounds cool but then they’re like “what if it was also about President Lincoln facing off against weird aliens”.
