My playstation 4 has basically turned into the Yakuza box at this point. I put the kid to bed around 8:30, hang out with the missus until she heads to bed around 10 and then squeeze in half an hour to an hour of digital tourism in the fictional neighborhood of Kamurocho. It’s chill af.

I believe all of those except Spyro as I don’t think Activision will let anything of theres on the system when they’re out here making bank on HD Remasters.

*Extremely Werner Herzog Voice*

I hate to blow smoke up someone’s ass but hot damn, if I see a Clayton Purdum long-read, I know it’s going to be good. It’s nice to have recognizable fav writers on the AVC again.

I sing “I’ll Race” to myself on a stupidly regular basis but only remember the first stanza of

Still playing Yakuza 0 in spurts and sputters. This game is good guys. Once both of the storylines get revving and rolling, it really is a blast. I’ve stopped doing side missions because I’m so excited to rush to the next objective which made me realize how lackadaisically I was playing at first. I think I tried to

When it’s almost lunchtime and you got your leftover Vegetarian Enchiladas and a fat new Tim Rogers Video to munch on. And also you live in a timeline where Sega is just throwing money at the Yakuza devs cuz they rule.

Like I’m glad to see Rizzo again but I just don’t see this having the same Mad Men magic. Why the American Dream is hollow is at least interesting, why it sucks to be royal and rich... uhhhh...

Justin yes, Griffin was just a cool guy who got lucky with his brother’s spot.  I think Justin had experience at Gamespot or one of the big ones before Polygon.

It’s always so weird to see Justin McElroy and his youngest brother go from “that guy who wrote for polygon and his brother who worked as community moderator” to these podcast celebrities with people who would cut off their left ear to meet them.  Wild.

Well yeah, Americans read a lot of shit.  Have you seen the bestseller lists?

I am still playing

It’s the detail those guys packed into every background. Obviously this nostalgia kick lead me to find albums online of all the background art and let me tell you, they’ve aged well.

The Messenger looks extremely up my alley. I used to blow entire visits to my cousin’s house playing the original Ninja Gaiden on their NES and continually getting destroyed by those overpowered hawk bastards.

The minigames in Yakuza really are a shining beacon of the tea’s commitment to excellence. While meaning no disrespect to the folks at Atlus, the batting minigame in Persona 5 is pretty trash, while the batting mini game in Yakuza 0 (only one I’ve played) has enough fun and depth that it can be played for pretty long

Damn, everybody is selling me on Donut County.  I adore the aesthetic but wasn’t sure there was enough meat on the bones to justify it but maybe I should think of it less ass a meaty steak and more as a sugary-sweet, easy to eat donut.  Food Metaphors!!!

I’m beginning to burn out on Yakuza 0 which sucks but I think I went in too hard. At the beginning I played every minigame I could (despite not understanding at all how Mahjonng works) and tackled every sidequest that came my way. But now I’m at Chapter 5 and even the main quests feel like sidequests in their

I see rideable mounts, arrows you can use to climb with, dynamic water physics and basically just everything I could ever want holy godballs give me the game now!!!

It’s weird to read Tim’s “Born Stupid” catchphrase because you 100% hear it in it’s wacky cadence he does in the videos.

CDs are my worst crutch but I’m stuck in a car 45 minutes a day to and from work so they all just pile up in my car making it look like I just drove through a Sam Goody.
