I’m trying to think of the games I watch during the AGDQ streams and it’s usually some kind of platformer where the streamer has every single timing memorized and every wall glitch down pat. That or really broken games that they just completely invert.
Lost Coast is skippable and Deathmatch is multiplayer only I think. The episodes don’t take very long and Ep 2 is so so good. But be prepared to join the list of folks in the “oh wow, I’m never going to know how this story ends” camp.
I’m still muscling through Yakuza 0 and it’s great but I want to talk about something else, How long do you hold onto your old game systems?
This one snuck up on me and I’m behind on Metroidvania’s at the moment still meaning to pick up Hollow Knight, the one everybody and their aunt said is a masterpiece, but this’ll sit somewhere on my “need to play” list.
In Terms of atmosphere and story content this really piques my interest but in terms of actual gameplay I’ll have to see more.
If we can’t laugh at our obsession with true crime documentaries than what are we allowed to laugh at?
Looking from this trailer which is bathed in hues of Red amongst the white and black, Saulnier will finally complete his RGB trilogy.
Yeah it’s hard to sell a lot of video game forum dwellers on emergent gameplay when all they want to see is a bullet point that says something stupid like “1,000 quests, 100 hours of gameplay!”
Damn I didn’t really have much interest in Sea of Theives but that encounter you described sounded like a hoot! And those gifs are pretty epic.
Throw a relaxing game in there man! I haven’t played stardew valley myself yet but everybody and their mom loves it and it’s cheap as actual farmed goods.
Spoilers for Life is Strange whic is what we’re all doing obvs
Getting my Yakuza 0 on. I just made it to the Majima Nightclub storyline which is whatever. I was getting really into Kiryu’s story and really got the flow of switching his styles but I’m sure this story will perk up on it’s own.
Parasocial friendships seem like such a sad side effect of the late-stage capitalist world we live in where public spaces and the idea of a public good has kind of dissappeared and most of us spend stupid amounts of time stuck in our cars by ourselves commuting to and from work where a podcast of four people shooting…
The translation work is honestly mind-blowing. Having slogged through stilted dialogue from JRPGs to Anime and back, this game’s translation is so smooth and spot-on it’s amazing. Hope Sega gave the team that did it a crate of Champagne when the project was done.
No games but I finished a really good article in the New Yorker about a Dutch Criminal whose sister was the key witness who put him away. Having all of my previous notions of the Netherlands be Tulips and canals and bicycles it was really interesting to get a peak at their distinctly European organized crime culture.…
I loved the hell out of Valkyria Chronicles 1 but none of the sequels promised to scratch the same exact X-Com via WWII via Shonen Jump that it did. Do I have to go read some Wiki to get caught up on the story or can you jump from 1 to 4?
I feel bad saying it but We Happy Few depsite having absolute banger aesthetics looks like a “Wait for Sale” for me. As you said, everytime I see actual gameplay I’m left colder and colder.
