Beat God of War this past week which was nice. Pretty good ending overall and I made my thoughts about other stuff known in the article about it published here this past week. So far I can’t see anything on the calendar topping it for my Game of the Year but that’s because I don’t think Spelunky 2 is coming out this

Bye Bye Greasy was my all time fav.

I feel like they’re wibbly-wobbly with the rules of the gods and all and everything that the Greek Fates could affect was bound to Greece while everything the Norse Gods can change is bound to wherever this game takes place (let’s say outside Gothenburg).

I finished the game this week and while the story is amazing and I truly appreciated the great relationships all the character had, I can’t help feeling like Thor and Odin being used as sequel bait is kind of cheap. It wouldn’t be that bad if they weren’t mentioned every. other. sentence. practically. It’s like

Bummer for all those who work there but can’t say it’s a huge surprise. Radical Heights was treated with derision by everyone I heard talking about it before the announcement trailer was even finished playing.

That glitched out version of World of Tanks looks cool as hell. My PC version of Arkham Aslyum would always glitch the environment but still be fully playable. made for some cool surreal adventures.

Destiny is the biggest most mega successful game I never understand. Everyone who plays it is always complaining about it and nothing about it looks that fun. Why would you take the worst part of MMOs (the grinding and the loot chase) and put them in an FPS? Well, I mean we know why it’s to trigger that Skinner Box

Honestly the opening intro is probably one of the harder parts of the game. After that it opens up and gives you a lot more freedom to say “no thanks” to encounters if you want and you start to get an idea for how combat works in their system.

City of Brass looks right up my alley but I’ve been pretty good about not buying games when my backlog is the size of Mt Rainer. And I’m not putting a dent in it anytime soon because I barely have any time to play lately and I’m having too much fun playing God of War.

*Extremely powerful Southern Matron voice*

I don’t know the etiquette but I find keeping a bow (let’s pvp), a friendly wave (let’s pve) and a dismissive wave (sorry didn’t mean to summon bye bye) in my emotes is generally all i ever needed to communicate with people. Also some sort of drop to a knee one for the rare time that I would actually win in PVP.

Most people are hooked by the attempted suicide part which is at the end of ep 2 right?

Really Bad Chess was my mobile game addiction of 2017. It’s just chess with randomized pieces. It’s not completely random, they have an a difficulty slider so you don’t get ethered by 14 rooks at once. So you can end up with like 4 bishops and 3 knights or if you crank the difficulty, just a bunch of rooks, knights

Fortnite is good fun though *sits down in old man rocking chair* it’s a lot more complicated now then it was when the first launched the BR mode. I hopped on at launch when it was a simple experiment and really enjoyed it. Having logged in a few weeks ago I was met with a bevy of new weapons and locations I was not

It’s weird that I remember the mayor trying to book a room detail but thought nothing of it besides that is was probably just “world color” to make the game feel more realistic. Then again I’ve never been a secret hunter in Final Fantasy’s, even failing to get the Gold Chocobo you need in FF7 to get the overpowered

Swapping characters mid battle is probably what makes FFX the easiest Final Fantasy I played (having started at VII). It’s like an insta heal and if you have a troubling boss, you can grind everyone to have their limit breaks stocked up and have those in the pocket to unleash one after the other in the battle. And

I am one hundered percent an aberration in Total War fans but I’ve always been a sucker for the musket and cannon ones like Napoleon and Fall of the Shogun over the sword and sandals variety. Though taking out agents sounds like a net improvement to me. Hate those guys.

You need to get some Nintendo or something in their stat to counteract all that bleakness. Frostpunk looks incredibly interesting bu tI don’t know if I have time for another cold dark sad game right now.

What movies did you watch? Also I don’t know if it’s ever been done but we should get a Letterboxd thread going on here for Gameological people who want to follow eachother. I’m following a bunch of people from the Dissolve (RIP) and wouldn’t mind more folks.

Still playing God of War which is still the goddam best. Patrick Klepeck over at waypoint wrote an article about how he loves it now but reserves the right to change his opinion later which is understandable considering many games that received this level of universal acclaim later received a pretty significant “wait
