Heather Dubrow isn’t a villain; she’s more the voice of reason than anything.

Wait, are we really framing the attacks regarding her sleeping with Brandi as homophobic? My impression is that the other women were upset because Denise was clearly being a hypocrite and a liar, not that anybody cared that she was sleeping with a woman

This is just to ask for clarification regarding something written here. Why was it homophobic for the cast to claim that Richards slept with a woman? This isn’t defending the cast, but rather that what made the accusations themselves homophobic in this particular case?

To me, the most startling thing I read was when people who watched the show were surveyd, Carole Baskin was viewed most unfavorably by a wide margin. Cult Leader Doc Antle and Scam Master Jeff Lowe received much better grades than she did. The second most unfavorable character? Her husband Howard.

Bullshit.

Damn, I liked her. She was dogged and would have made one hell of a great leader.

Fiona is one of only a handful of people that I would consider a good celebrity. (Amy Sedaris is the other one that immediately comes to mind.) God, I can’t wait for the next album.

Fiona is a nice reminder of how a musician can exist as an authentic being as opposed to most entertainers that function as bottomless corporations. She came on the scene as a young person and has somehow been able to be true and consistent to that sensibility. I admire that.

I think she treats humans the same way. She has some kind of saint complex. I’ve known quite a few people like this. You think oh cool, look at this amazing supportive person! How great. Then you realize everything is contractual, if someone doesn’t genuflect correctly the flip is switched. It’s a weird, subtle, slow…

I actually hate the animal stuff. Something about reads sooo prop-ey. She reads like a rich, British Mother Theresa, like she gets off on being around all these wounded birds. It makes me uncomfortable.

Once again, you find a way to turn an album review about a female artist into an unnecessarily long and self-indulgent existential crisis piece that eventually winds up belittling the work of the female artist. Bjork, Christina Aguilera, Carly Rae Jepsen, etc., etc.
