Shipping on cars is generally subsidized in the automotive market. This makes it so no matter where the vehicle is purchased from - the charge SHOULD be the same. This is done on purpose so that one dealer does not have an upper hand over another just because they happen to be closer to the manufacturer.

To say the economy is in ruins is pretty disingenuous. I don’t like Trump either but that’s not really an accurate statement. There are some parts of our economy that are definitely hurting and are bad - for sure - but there are also some industries that are having a record year (such as RVs which I am in).
