I’ll play devil’s advocate: If you weren’t using the autonomous hoohaw, you’d have been paying more attention.
Aero for efficiency or balance is not quite what that huge wing is about. That’s high speed downforce, and likely not much use under 100.
The best thing my wife ever did (and there’s been plenty, trust me) was tell me (at 21) that I didn’t need to buy that new 1994 Miata R. Could we have afforded it? Probably. But continuing to own and maintain older cars made me thrifty and quite a capable wrench.
How great would it be if Mazda brought something to showrooms to take on the Veloster N and Golf GTI?
Put ‘er there, bro-ham. Totally agree on the blind chicane E-to-W. Surely it helps that I’ve got lots of seat time (and balls of steel and brains of moosh) because I’m flat on the gas from 6 all the way to 9. So not only am I gaining like mad on the suckas who don’t have the stones to huck it through 8, but then I’ve…
A profit EBITDA is not a profit. There’s the negative cash flow related to depreciable/amortizable capital assets... so it’s disingenuous to say “we made money before deducting part of the cost of our PPE”. That’s akin so saying those things don’t have a cost.
Thunderhill local (ish) here - nice to see some love for the West track. But man, it’s like an overblown AX course; narrow, tight, not a lot of room to run, overall a pretty slow track. (but fun!)
huh, it’s a nose-heavy AWD and it doesn’t want to go sideways? who’da thunk it.
Partly down to geography, partly to a longer history of infrastructure development, and partly because they’re all a little more woke about the whole “climate catching fire” thing than we are here in the U.S.
Same. Rarely do I bother with the lore. Just something about the way the redacting adds to the creepy vibe, especially when you say to yourself, “oh, I know precisely what’s under that redacted section”.
Thanks for the review, sounds like right up our alleys (teenage sons and teenage-acting dad).
Maybe it’s having Tom on hand, or just having common sense, or perhaps it’s the filter I have blocking USA Today because it’s a contentless rag, so take this with a grain of salt.
I looked at building a Type65 years ago, decided to work on my fab skills, and just haven’t gotten back to this idea yet. 35K for a completed one with good parts/pedigree is pretty fair.
Amazing that you’ve never had a car older than you. Most of mine have been, because all the best cars were made before 1973.
Good point about the depth and refocus time. Seems to me the HUD in my C6 doesn’t have that issue... but that’s a monochrome projection, might not be practical packaging for side view mirrors.
Same here, frustrating controls and lack of any clear sense of goal or progression, left me sort of bored and irritated.
Metro, dunebuggy, really anything from the wooden wheel era will get the “hey cool” neurons firing. They’re old, iconic, and rare enough to be noteworthy.
Possibly pendantic, but I think this is a two-door sedan.
Please, someone buy lots of these, like Chrysler 300 lots. That way I can buy one in 5-10 years after the snags are revealed and I can stomach the price and ownership experience. I have a Mk6 GTI and a C6Z, so I’m okay with some pain.
