What’s with the rear wheel camber?

Just watched the film with my sons (11 and 14). What a glorious thing.

As a driver of a lightly warmed-over Mk6 GTI, I’d say torque is more fun than HP for a daily driver.

How much better would the world be without euro pedestrian safety standards? Maybe this is USA narrowmindedness, but STAY OUT OF THE STREET. Cars, STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK. Drivers, PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION.

You should be “the man” in perpetuity for this apt observation.

Good post, informative, in depth, but with that patented Jalopnik snark. Bonus points for not using “I can’t stop watching” or “incredibly” or “totally” or any of that other clickbaity nonsense.

But hey!! I have a MUTHALUVIN RED STRIPE in my grille yo, that says sport for days!! :-) Oh, and totally pointless dual exhaust tips.

Ah yes, those things that looks like a robotic doorstops that you can’t see out of! Super awesome having a 5" thick A-pillar sloping way the hell out there... Shopped both before going VW. Neat cars, I guess I just like my styling a little more adult (boring).

If the Civic Type R is the “exiting” one, I’ll take bland any day.

Nice price, the owner will enjoy lots of “haven’t seen one of those in a while” and “what is that?” from passers-by.

Came in here to say just that. Great blend of grown-up appearance, boy-racer performance, euro styling. Love my Mk6.

I’m with you - had an 80 that I got in and out of before the prices went nuts. Glad I owned it, but ergonomics, HVAC, brake feel (and floor-hinged pedals) weren’t the best. Amazing steering, cool sound, great visibility; but my 240Z already had that. And didn’t have any broken head studs :-/

Totally agree - while shopping for a GTI (bought used instead, yay me) I was told by the dealer that I pretty much had to have the 1K lighting upgrade because “they build them all like that”.

Oh my god - it’s just like reading Car & Driver - you’re in the middle of something then BLAMMO page-after-page of floor mats.

Missing center caps, misfit headlight (maybe), douchebag seller? PASS.

Interesting. So you think boating is limited to drinking and staying in the boat? Odd.

That’s all well and good, but frankly Raph, I’m kind of disappointed that you wouldn’t rather advocate that this be played on every station at every commercial break. So many people have their heads up their asses, getting the word out cannot possibly be a bad thing.

I’m not seeing any pictures, just Road and Track spam.

Wow, that was great fun to read. I’m in my second playthrough of this game (after playing W3, FO4, FO3, FNV) and was sort of bummed about the linear storyline. It helped remind me to go off-script more.

Putting actual torque to the ground will alter the planet’s rotation and hasten our descent into the sun. Naughty boy!
