Not really a track day, but I showed up to a Porsche CCA Autocross in my Evo IX MR. I’m used to autocrossing with a pretty tight-knit club, so I wasn’t used to snobbery.

Was hoping kotaku would give in to nerd stereotypes and the article would just be completely blank

Oh for sure. BMW is notorious for their modesty with factory HP figures. I was just pointing out how carried away a lot of owners get since that’s pretty common knowledge.
Just an FYI, E46 M3s were rated at 333 hp from the factory. E90 M3s were rated at 414 hp.
Congrats, they’re great cars regardless of what they dyno at. At the end of the day, numbers don’t really matter.
Have you thought about a career in comedy?
Please god, give us no more validation for every E46 M3 owner with a “factory freak” making 350 whp stock.
Don’t be so mean to Tavarish!
Just waved to a guy in a Cayman R that was trailering a set of track tires and a toolbox. Brought a single tear to my eyes.
Yet Porsche 911s continue to beat cars with “optimal” weight distributions and “correct” engine/drive configurations in all types of racing series - as they’ve done throughout history.
Maybe to the untrained eye they look similar...
For some reason this looks infinitely more enjoyable to me than a Singer. Even from just a minute-long video, you can tell that the whole ethos of the brand is different. Ultimate quality vs. the ultimate experience.
Are you doing Vin’s job today?
With one hand free, you have plenty of space to wave slowly at other farmers passing by or to grab the light beer sitting in the console.
Picture a farmer with his elbow out the window and one hand on the wheel.
Cool, thanks for the response. Yeah, Golf R might be in the cards then. I’ve been DD-ing my 912 with no a/c or creature comforts for a while now. It’s getting tiring haha. I’ve been looking for something to replace the Evo IX I sold as my DD last year and thought a WRX might fit the bill.
How’s the road noise and seat comfort? I’m 6’2”-ish with a pretty tall torso, so I have a hard time fitting in a lot of Japanese cars. The biggest complaint with my Evo was the road noise. Wondering if the new WRX/STi are any better?
