I have an ‘88 M3 and have had a 97 as well (on top of other BMWs). My ‘88 has 240,000 miles on it. No mechanical problems so far.

I convinced my FIL to get an IS 350 F-Sport instead of a German competitor because the in-laws live eight miles from a Toyota dealership and an hour and a half from the nearest Audi/BMW/Merc dealer.

I’ve had two M3s that have NEVER broken down. Combined mileage: more than 400k miles.

That’ll be just fine then. My mom chickened out when we got to the rental car place in Florence and ponied up for me to drive on her insurance. Anyways, it’s her card listed with the rental company hahaha. She’s got a good job... so it’ll be alright.

It was a major pain in the ass, but I had my phone to help with navigation and just tried to keep track of where the river was in relation to where I wanted to be.

I did get back to the US and end up receiving a shit ton of tickets for driving through Florence’s city center.
