You literally just substantiated Tom’s son’s line about “performative assimilation,” with your comment.

I lived in Springfield MO for over 10 years. Went to College and Grad School There. Here’s A tidbit of History for you, to lend some perspective to this incident. Springfield has a 2.5% black population, in a city of almost 200,000.

So much i’d Like to say here, I don’t even know where to begin. But up front, thank you for your transparency and willingness to share your struggle to reconcile your religious sensibilities with both your social and cultural conscience.

This is pretty interesting and ironic - I was literally just in Alexandria two weeks ago. Decided I might as well visit after “Bomb Cyclone The Sequel” grounded my return flight out of Reagan.

Poor Tariq Ans....BROTHER!!!! You Are Truly Next Level With It! (First Letter Caps For Emphasis!)

I couldn’t help but wonder if the producers/directors intentionally developed that character (Coogie) to stand out starkly against the backdrop of the city and storyline.

Grocery Carts are like agents of death rolling around on some raggedy wheels! Every communicable disease known to man can be cultured from that 18 inch plastic push-bar!

Say Word Sis...Say Word! And I Will Train My Children To Do The Same Thing!

Middle Child Here....NEVER Snitched!

I grew up in the city of St Louis so my first encounter with cotton didn’t occur until I was grown. I am an Army Chaplain, and while assigned to Fort Jackson in Columbia SC, I had to go notify a woman hat her husband had been killed in combat.

Just be sure you don’t “mispeak” have a social miscue or make a mistake again in your entire life. Ever. EVER!

I am not trying to start any commotion regarding your statement, but I would like for you to qualify your statement that black women (along with trans and queer groups) are the focal points of black resistance. Are speaking strictly in contemporary context or are you implying this is true historically?

I thought Snap Wilson’s origin story was that he was a gang member, not a Pimp. After His Father, a Pastor in Harlem was killed, it turned Sam wayward.

I see a lot of disdain for and dismissal of Star Parker’s addres, but no categorical refutation of the facts she laid out. Like when people don’t really have clear and cogent rebuttal, so they go all ad hominem on you.

10 Years? More like 21. That was 1996 when Mahmoud Abdul Rauf refused to stand for the National Anthem and called the Flag a symbol of Oppression.
