I’ve never read any Ayn Rand (despite the enthusiastic recommendation of some random girl in my creative writing class in 1998) - will I still enjoy reading this? Because I love the idea of a take-down, but want to understand it.

I hate all libertarians. Their willful lack of understanding of how the world and human nature actually work deserves no respect from anyone. They can all go jump off a cliff.
Really late with this reply, but, yeah. He spent (too many) years lying low and being conservative but not badmouthing the other guys. And, then, Bennett was primaried in 2010 and Hatch became the most pandering tea-partier you could find. I’m crossing my fingers that he’s primaried next year by a moderate.
This is what I thought, too. Apparently, asking questions is not only rude, but arrestable now. Welcome to your dystopian future.
Thank you for every time you’ve made this point! Someone involved in this whole shitshow was smart enough to look at voter data to manipulate the electoral college and successfully get a puppet elected (personally, I think the plan was started in November 2000). Blaming everything on their stupidity is letting them…
Honestly, I’m not expecting anything to change until 2022/24. Too much gerrymandering that needs to be overturned. Also, the economy will still be doing (mostly) good in 2018/20, due to carryover from good Democrat policy and the short-term-gain-long-term-loss policies Republicans always put in place. Shit doesn’t hit…
Hatch is not a good and honorable person. He’s in it for himself. He’s no better, and probably worse, than the rest of them.
When this is all finally out in the open and we know what happened, there will be (metaphorical) dead bodies all over the floor. Also, it’s not the FBI or CIA that will reveal it all - it’s going to be a journalist. My money’s on NYTimes or WaPo and suspect/hope they’re collaborating on this.
Aaaand...now to re-watch seasons 1 &2.
The thought of this...I just...ugh. I hate that man. I was 2 when he was elected (with his term limits platform) and he was still in office when I permanently moved away from Utah 3 years ago. A president hatch...all my (waning) faith in karma will be gone.
Yeah, it goes over really well when someone notices and comments on the fact that you’re wearing the shirt she donated last month. That shit is awesome in high school.
I grew up in a rural town - the nearest Walmart was 30 minutes away on the highway. You had to drive 2 hours over a mountain (not always passable in the winter) to get to a mall. There was definitely an element of privilege and wealth for the people who could afford to buy non Walmart clothing.
“I design alcohol brands.”
I had the same response when I read it for the first time a few years ago.
Ketoprofen is the best thing I’ve ever taken for cramps. I went to Italy for 7 months and when I came home, it was off the shelves.
Because I’m of Mormon pioneer stock and they’re all about genealogy, I’ve always known I’m not Irish.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but when asked how they’re eliminating debt/deficit dollars or how they’re paying for increased military spending, they point to the same (minimal) program cuts for both questions? And they’re still planning to cut taxes?
Don’t hold your breath. Like most republican presidencies, we’ll skate along on the democratic economy for a couple of years while the Republicans cut taxes creating a short term boom that will get them reelected. It’s generally during the second republican term when shit really hits the fan and people realize they’re…
My 40 years of observation supports this. Republicans get elected in a good economy which they continue to ride for a couple of years, cutting taxes and increasing spending which creates short term gains and allows a second term. By the end of that second term, the actual long term consequences of their policies is…
Seriously can’t decide whether to buy a house now or wait...
