This is the society you get when you treat firearm ownership as an inalienable right, rather than a privilege with responsibilities.

Nope. The pennies were dumped in a big pile on the guy’s driveway, along with a note saying “fuck you.” The coins were also covered in some sort of oil.
I used to work for a company that made a RADAR based blind spot monitoring system. I would occasionally point out that almost any car can be easily set up such that you didn’t even need the dollar and eighty nine cent convex mirror that could replace our system. People did not find this charming...
The vast majority of people don’t realize that sideview mirrors can be adjusted to the point where there is almost no blind spot between the side and rear view mirrors. There is no need to see the sides of your car in your sideview mirrors, it’s just a waste of mirror space. There is also no need to see behind you…
I’m glad they’re doing this.
I don’t have instagram, so I can’t see much in the way of detail. But it reminds me of those macaroni and newspaper clippings pieces that the art-teacher loves for being so “thoughtful”, but really aren’t that interesting. How much was this one, again?
Visitors at work have been extra levels of trash lately and essentially it’s because the sane good people are staying home until things settle.
Yeah, I saw that the perpetrator was going with the “self-defense” argument. Problem is, now that the video is out, it doesn’t really back up her claims.
I wish service workers had a "stand your ground" equivalent. I'd be fine with tossing this trash out of the cabin.
I’m wondering if this is related to the rise of extra-shitty restaurant customers. Most reasonable people cut back on eating out and flying, so the people who are left are disproportionately terrible.
I think in many cases they do get banned from the particular airline they were flying on, but I like the idea of an across-the-board, all airlines no-fly list for these d-bags. Enjoy Greyhound!
The moment he turned around and said “I’ve got you ma’am” to the flight attendant melted my heart. But the rest of it was absolutely horrible. One of the saddest things about the last four years is how the ahole in chief taught Americans to openly hate each other and removed the shame that previously stopped most idiot…
Some airlines did, at least as a temporary response to the pandemic. But apparently industry revenues from alcohol are 3x that of food and other beverages, and the markups on alcohol are high. Most airlines aren’t willing to give that up.
Y’all, I hate to bring it to your attention, but from my limited experiences out in the Real World these past few months, this sort of behavior isn’t limited to just airplanes.
The guy that intervened was having exactly none of Karen’s bullshit and good for him.
I fully support throwing the book at these fuckers, flying is unpleasant enough without these stupid assholes lashing out at the people who’s job it is to keep you safe and comfortable while you’re stuffed in a metal tube with a bunch…
Yeah, I swear by wishlists. If I see something I want, I just add it to the list, and often the next day, I don’t care to get it. If it comes up again later, and I still want it, it’s already there, but I might find something else that’s better at that time. I just repeat this until it falls off or I really, actually…
Oh yeah? I’d like to see YOU sense that the alien ship brandishing its weapons is projecting an air of hostility
Everything is debatable with Austen, in part because she is such an industry for both academics and publishers that all takes are welcome, in part because she is subtle. She does not tend to come out and say “hey, x is an injustice and woe betide us all” the way that Mary Wollstonecraft does (if you want clear…
Please just remember - these are essentially extremely fine sandpaper equivalents, their entire ‘erasing’ feature is simply the result of wearing down the surface being cleaned. So it may be unwise to use these heavily on items such as keyboards where the keycaps have the letters ‘imprinted’ on them via decal or…
I recently moved to Europe from the US and am now having to deal with a Berlin summer with no AC. It isn't too terrible, but being used to constant AC I would love some more respite. Does anyone have tips on keeping cool in a European apartment? i.e. a space where none of these solutions is practical. Anything other…
