Really? I just rewatched the whole series and think it stands up really well. I'd put it ahead of the Wire in that respect, though I'm sure if I ever re-watch the latter I'll revise my opinion.

I find that in both the book and the TV series the character bits and all the scheming that goes with them are the most fun parts. If they zeroed in on every battle or fight, I think it would get pretty boring fast. Instead they look at the prelude and the aftermath. Ultimately I think it's far more interesting how
