YES THIS. I know it’s anectodal, but I’d say 75% of the (late-model) cars I see driving without headlights are Hondas, notably the Civic, Accord, and sometimes Fit. That or driving with their high beams on. After a few test drives I’m convinced Honda’s got a wonky headlight stalk that’s throwing people off in addition

European cars are allowed to have more advanced 2-stage blinking brake lights that flash under heavy braking. However, NA-market German cars (BMW/MB) do already have secondary brake lights (on my car it’s what would be the rear fogs) that only come on during hard braking, and they are very, very bright. That said,

Huh, I *can’t* turn on my fog lights without having my headlights on. If the headlights are off, the fog button turns them both on until I turn the fogs off.

I’m assuming that is indeed how Sync’s calling solution works (that was a very specific response), but I know my car will call 911 whether or not I have a cell phone with me after an incident. I can bet a ton of middle-aged women with my car have no idea it can even do that.

I’ve lived in Rowland Heights my entire life. Sometimes I’m not sure if the drivers are just oblivious, or actively trying to kill as many people as possible.

I have bulb housings that are inside a plastic shell - there's a little round porthole I reach through to reach the plug and back of the bulb. These heatsinks will likely rest *against* the outer shell of the plastic housing. Do you think they will melt with extended contact?

This might be a dumb question, but how exactly does a seat bolster fail? I know it’s not the fancy self-inflating Mercedes kind and probably not adjustable. Does it just... fall off?

How do you mount a phone on your vent without the weight of the phone tilting the vent down and your phone along with it? I bought an Airframe+ and my vent dropped right down when I stuck my iPhone in it.

I know that both Mercedes and BMW already do that. Mercedes vehicles will flash the brake lights rapidly, and BMWs light up a second set of lights (same bulb as the rear fogs in mine because NA-spec) when the brakes are hit hard. I'm not sure if any domestic brands are doing the same.

I’m like 95% sure if you look up the vehicle codes that Californians are explicitly allowed to pass on the right as long as there are 2 or more lanes in your direction of travel, and/or the highway is divided so that travel may only occur in one direction per side of the divider. I think as far as road regulations go,

I think the worst is when there ISN’T a ramp to accelerate on. If you’ve ever driven the 110 Arroyo Seco Parkway in Pasadena (I'm not sure what part of the state you're from), then you know that some of the entrances are literally perpendicular access roads with a STOP SIGN before entering highway traffic. You

I think it also has to do with the fact that there are no rules (to my knowledge) against passing on the right in CA, unlike in many other states. You're just expected to go around them while they sit in the left lane for all eternity because that's what you do. I often find that the lane just to the right of the left

BTW, how does one escape the gray? I don’t really know what it means, but I’ve been gray for a very long time. Are my comments unsatisfactory? D:

If any late-model car looks and runs that well in 19 years and 1 MILLION miles, I will be blown away. Hell, I doubt my 2013 BMW will even make it to 150k without having some kind of catastrophic failure. Nobody makes reliable cars like Lexus does (did?).

I still don't feel it's up to par with Google Maps or Waze (are they the same now that Google owns Waze?), but Apple Maps is so, SO much better than it was when it launched. Accidentally using Apple Maps no longer deposits me on dead end streets and at nonexistent destinations.

I’ll start this off by being very frank: I’m only 20, and I look probably 16. I drive a BMW X1 (yes, purchased with mommy and daddy’s money since I’m also incredibly spoiled - not the point, but I did get it for only $29k).

That 110N/5N interchange is so wonky! A couple decades ago it was a different type of weird, according to my mom, but now it's just worse. I've never struggled with it, but I'm always taken aback by how the lines don't break but I'm expected to cross them, and also how the right exit lane looks like it should (and

Traffic is indeed terrible; the gridlock is an every day necessary evil. You want to get somewhere? During the hours of 5-8AM or 3-7PM? Have fun. But the horrors of the traffic only emphasize how bad our public transportation is. Sure, it'll take me over 2 hours to get 25miles from my house sitting in

I find the concept of a completely non-driving family genuinely fascinating. If only the US had such fantastic public transportation - it's terrible. I guess it's also compounded by the fact that everything in America is soooo far apart. Example: I go to college in San Diego, and I have a car on campus. The local
