Sometimes I do think it's unfair for automakers to be publicly crucified for not acing tests that didn't exist when the car was deisgned. However, automakers like Volvo had vehicles that performed well right when the test was introduced simply because they put more effort into safety design. Nissan certainly has…
I could just do a simple bulb/ballast or even full projector housing swap myself, but if the BMW dealership sees any of your own electrical modifications to the car you're SOL if (and when, because BMW) something in the system goes out and you want it covered under warranty. Seeing as my warranty doesn't end for…
Unfortunately (and frankly, unacceptably) even new model BMWs not ordered with lighting packages only have H7 or H11 reflector housings. You can option out a 328i up to near $60k, and still not get projector beams. It's unbelievable.
Except it won't because BMW are such colossal butts about retrofits. I tried (unsuccessfully) to get xenons retrofitted to my 2013 X1 and the furthest I ever got was a quote that included $2,200 for parts, another $1,000 for labor, and a voided electrical systems warranty. Needless to say after a few months I gave…
Wait are those headlamps different shapes? The passenger's side housing definitely looks square.
Well color me impressed if every teen you know really does pay for their own insurance. I don't know of any, and I sure as hell can't afford my own insurance. Granted, my mom's paranoia has led to us having full comprehensive on 5 cars (some 20+ years old) along with a $5 million umbrella policy that drives our…
I once saw a man try to put just his guitar in the overhead bin and close it so nobody else would put another bag in and jostle his precious 12-string. If your instrument is that fragile/valuable that you can't check it, buy it a seat like you're supposed to or deal with it. I openly admit that I (as a true American,…
I have a *very* steep driveway with a very sharp angle going into the flat plane of the garage floor. I actually have to build a good bit of momentum or give the throttle a good push to get the rear end of our '91 W126 over the crest and into the garage before braking so that I don't hit the front wall. My little DD…
And if you use two feet during your driving test, they'll automatically fail you. I've actually tried to drive with both feet (after learning to drive with one) and found it nearly impossible in the same way that I can't, for the life of me, play two different piano rhythms with my left and right hands. My hand-eye…
I live in a predominantly Asian (yeah, bring on the jokes - I'm used to em) suburb about 25 miles east of LA. As crazy as it sounds, the most annoying habit I've noticed more and more of lately is people turning RIGHT from the LEFT hand lane. I don't understand who thinks that cutting in front of that many cars and…
