Isn't the larger issue at hand about parenting in general, and how aesthetics are lauded in our society as a whole? Even the "Ugly Duckling" has a backwards message: it doesn't matter who you are on the inside, as long as you grow up to be pretty.
I just want to hide somewhere because between this kid being 13 and Lourdes basically being the clone of her mother....
That's exactly what I thought, I remember when he was born and people were like "ROCCO, WHAT A CRAZY NAME"
I've seen people refer to him as "alleged rapist"——-despite, you know, being convicted.
If kids can't even pose for photos holding bottles of expensive booze once a year then we are all doomed. There are more important things to do than concern troll Madonna.
can we go back to the part where Rocco is THIRTEEN
Perhaps I should re-phrase to: "Given the choice between a man who has cheated on his wife and/or SO and one who has not, I would choose the one who has not." And ... although this is the interwebz and you don't really "know" me, you now have at least read something posted by someone who has never cheated on a spouse…
Mmmhmmm....Always remember the great James Goldsmith quote: "When one marries one's mistress, one creates a vacancy."
I don't necessarily agree with that. Otoh, I'm not going to feign surprise and dismay at the fact that a man who willingly blew up his first family would have no problem blowing up his second.
He is a gem alright....Is this Lindy West person even properly informed about the people she finds "legit charming"?
My take on cheaters is the same as mine on liars: Once one, always one.
There is a pretty wide degree of variance in how people who've gone through transition see themselves. While some people fall into the "Harry Benjamin Syndrome" camp, there are also a lot of us who are sort of in between - I do consider what I overcame to be something on the order of a birth defect, but I believe…
I must confess, up until recently, I thought 'tranny' was an acceptable term to use for cross-dressing men. Now, this is largely because of Eddie Izzard, who is one of my favorite comedians. But thanks to commenting communities on Jezebel, I have learned to use terms that aren't inherently problematic or offensive. I…
Not strictly related, but I had to share because it's bugged me for years:
I look after a helpdesk for an online panel. My team is largely accepting, and my perceived gayness (I'm thoroughly queer, but I don't think flatly 'gay' or 'lesbian' apply to me) has never been a problem. I haven't even had to give the side-eye…
Ah, institutional racism, the gift that keeps on giving. In a twist of irony served with a shake of my damn head, a…
The thing that really bothers me about this woman(setting aside the fact she seems dumb as toast) is that there are a couple thousand places online where slender women can post photos of themselves and be praised for their awesome genetics/dieting skill/fitness. There are a relatively tiny number of places where size…
Kind of surprised it's gone comparatively unmentioned how ridiculously fucking ableist Kang is on top of everything else. Does her seething contempt for everyone who works out less than she does (or just looks like they do) apply to, say, people with cerebral palsy?
Actually, probably, so never mind.
Oh my God, that woman is incredible. Strength, smarts, selflessness. I am so sorry for her that she lost her son. I hope having saved others brings her some comfort in all of the difficulties ahead. She unquestionably did the best that she could.
