Yes. It’s one of the aspects of the double edged sword that is now citizen journalism. Everyone with a cellphone and internet access is capable of publicizing events that often, but not always, can be perceived as something different than what they actually might be.

I’m not a lawyer, and I don’t play one on the internet. All I know about law is journalism law and reruns of “Law & Order.” IDK if this kid going on national TV changed his status from private citizen to public figure, and honestly I don’t care.
