Thanks for the review and for answering my question! This car is awesome, but after reading this review it seems like (even if money wasn’t an object... which it is) I would want the GT350.

Which Betten Chevrolet was it? I’d like to steer everyone I know (I live in Grand Rapids) away from it if I can.
Is more horsepower better? In other words, is it better/more fun than the GT350 or GT350R?
this. or a focus st
Subaru made 555 different special editions of the latest wrx sti?
Droopy face is droopy.
the photos look great to me, but I drive a glorified economy car so anything with leather everywhere is going to look good to me.
My comment has nothing to do with the HP figures, and everything do to with the fact that people are reading “a whiff of disappointment” from the people that have reviewed the C8.
I think that is to be expected. Everyone has wanted Chevy to do this for so long, and they had an idea (maybe even a dream) of what it was going to be when it happened. Chevy did it, its going to fall short of the titan level of people’s expectations. I’m sure its still an absolutely fantastic car that will compete…
I haven’t watched the video yet (so shame on me) , but did they talk about why they decided to go with a pushrod instead of DOHC?
It doesn’t matter if GM designed it or someone they paid designed it, the research that they had for why they went with the pushrod is still the same... so I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make?
Fair point, I haven’t designed any from the ground up. But GM has. They arguably have one of the (if not the) best R&D departments out there. When the C7 came out (not that long ago) they started fresh with the engine design, and explored DOHC designs. They ended up going with a brand new pushrod design. Why? because…
is it fair to compare displacement though? a 6.3 liter DOHC probably wouldn’t fit in the mustang because it would have to be so much bigger and heavier. The fact that pushrod V8s can be so small, have so much displacement AND get the same/better gas mileage is why I still like the pushrod (though both are amazing)
I love the sound and revs of DOHC engines, and flat plane makes it even cooler. BUT I haven’t driven a DOHC V8 that has had as much grunt in low revs as the GM pushrod V8s. Near instant torque is a good enough reason to argue that they’re not, in fact, better at any RPM.
A UCCS? A UXCS? A CUS (crossover utility sedan)?
is it a hatchback? it looks more like a tall sedan that happens to have a hatch... an S(edan)UV
The headlights may suck, but I think the fact that VW is putting their R badge everywhere nowadays is the real crime.
But what does it look like with the plastic fender guards on it?
My longest commute (day) is the exact same day you’re talking about! I left work around 5pm in downtown Detroit (I worked at the advertising agency that advertised for Chevrolet at the time) and headed towards Dearborn where I lived. As the rain came down hard the water in the freeway started to rise, and they started…
I’m glad you got the gist of my post
