Honestly, this isn’t shocking to me at all. It’s a super rare car, and so it costs a lot of money. 6k to have the car “as it came from the dealership” would be a small price for someone who can afford one of these cars.

I would recommend a Volvo C30 T5. I know nothing about them other than they look cool in a goofy sort of way, and they seem like they’re fun. Also, I believe they are pretty cheap these days:

you would think you would want to assume that the customer isn’t that smart, and that they would leave it idling. I haven’t done this in my car but I have driven it in my driveway without the key in it, I’m also surprised that they would let you put it in gear if the key isn’t in the car while it’s running.

Personally, I love my proximity key and push start. I never have to take the key out which is great, but I’ve always found that a fundamental flaw. If the car is idling without the key in it for more than 5 minutes, it should shut off. Why it doesn’t do this boggles my mind.

It hasn’t been around that long, since 2005 in Europe it looks like. But here in the states for the past 5 years we’ve only known them as enthusiast hot hatches with manuals. Ford was doing so much right with them, and that is where the disappointment comes in.

the FoST and FiST were never about straight line speed, they’re about having fun in the corners, and having fun rowing through the gears. I had a muscle car before I bought an ST, it was way faster in the straights, but day to day the ST is more fun. I doubt the Edge lives up to that.

While you are right, that we don’t know if the new ST will be sold in the states because it hasn’t been announced, we also know that the Ford claims the Focus Active is the the only Focus that will be sold stateside, which is why I (and others) assume that the new ST wont make it over the pond.

I was really upset when they slapped an ST badge on an automatic SUV. It muddied the good name of the fun manual hot hatches that the ST’s were. Now to add insult to injury they’re killing off the other ST models in the US, which REALLY hurts.

I’m super pumped about this. I want to go inside that building and see it like it was in it’s hay-day. Hopefully the moron family in Detroit will go through with the sale.

Interestingly enough, I just searched auto trader for 2011 (7 years, or 84 months old) trucks, and the average price is above 20k, so if you kept your truck for that long, you would still have a decent trade in when you go to get your next vehicle.
