It IS a stupid joke if you really meant it as one because its quite often an argument people have actually used with some people pushing people not agreeing with them about the project as “sunk cost fallacy” rather than actually making a genuine argument. So with that in mind, why would I think that was a joke rather

This is what we call a “straw man argument”. How much one spent has nothing to do with anything they said. The fact people keep coming back to this statement kind of makes their point. If there is a legitimate disagreement to be made you can easily break down and counter another’s points.

Do you actually think you need 2 grand to access it?

A lot of things that people seem to think are mutually exclusive in game development really aren’t to be frank so I kind of question that statement.

Also to your EA examples: It’d look sketchy coming from EA because their history and the fact that they have the funds to do a project like this without outside support.

Its irrelevant if she’s obligated to reply or not (she’s not for reference, but still irrelevant). The fact is that she did, she responded to someone who was polite and simply expressing a differing opinion and she decided to take it immediately as sexism despite there being zero cause to take it as such and engaged

I’d argue that they were supporting their workers. The ones who actually believe in being respectful to their communities and not jumping down their throats simply for POLITELY (big key word here.. if it wasn’t polite and had any other sort of implications in the wording I’d be more generous) disagreeing with a public

I care about companies because of the people working for them and frankly a few bad apples not disciplined can ruin things for everyone else. From that perspective you should care about companies because they are responsible for more than just a single person and frankly a well run company? The better it does, the

Frankly that shit is disturbing and I think ANet should make it absolutely clear that the specific behavior is what caused it, not the complaining but regardless, some self-righteous arrogant ass hats isn’t good cause to act like ANet didn’t have good enough reason to let them go. To do that would give them control in

Believe it or not, for Metal Gear? The focus was on the English voice actors. So much so that an english version with Japanese subtitles I think I heard at one point. Would need to find it again to verify.

Understand why he wanted to play as Big Boss, BUT given the storyline and how Hideo Kojima very clearly planned out a lot of this stuff, it makes sense that he wanted a different voice for Big Boss from Solid Snake. There was really no reason for him to have been humiliated. They wanted a different voice for a

Comparisons are valid as they’re both the same genre (hell, even games outside of a genre have reasonable comparisons you can make), but you still gotta look at the details... such as the difference between completely random content and building something more detailed, which you lose out on in procedural generation.

So what, crafting isn’t a big deal? A good many MMO players would disagree with you.

Not really... everything in those games in more solo based. Yes, even Elite Dangerous. The multi-crew aspect is a pretty large difference in terms of scale, not to mention the ships themselves.

Big difference?
