My husband got a cut on his finger that turned into toxic shock and the flesh-eating virus. Cut to 7 mos later when I got a message at my desk (I’m a public school teacher) that went like this:

People are being willfully ignorant about this song at this point. The historical context has been explained ad nauseum re: the woman wanting to stay but being unable to say so explicitly due to social norms at the time and the man trying to give her reasons to stay so as to provide her with cover. And the line…

I watch Botched as my go-to trash tv, and he was on there. The plastic surgeons were like “Oh please god don’t do this to yourself, your nose will collapse and you won’t be able to breathe out of it.” Well, he found someone in Brazil who WOULD, and guess what happened? The surgeons then told him “We can’t do anything…

I mean, that’s obvious and isn’t really making any kind of point. The people that don’t like this show didn’t watch it, a lot of people hated this show because of the tired, old, stupid stereotypes it pushed about “nerd” culture. Basically anything involving minorities or women was bottom of the barrel “comedy”.…

You know what, I don’t get outwardly pissed at Jezebel or individual writers very often, but this whole article and it’s not-so-subtle subtext is horrible. It’s disgusting and y’all should be ashamed.

You’re really going to maintain that you’re not being sexist after using blatantly stereotypical sexist terms to describe the women in your office? Yikes. If you’re not a troll, you must be stupid.

Do you call men in your life catty and gossipy, too, then? Because you seem to act as if you agree that gender doesn’t inherently determine anything, but are borrowing sexist definitions from the society that categorizes women to be that way. Do you not realize how that is socially expected of women, and not because one gender is inherently something? Also, yes, you are being sexist and gossipy about women here too.

Why make her choose someone younger and stupider

MMFD is so difficult to watch, but so good. As someone who has been both pretty mentally ill and pretty fat most of my life, it felt really real.
