Yeah, but even if it all makes sense (and even if odd, dramatic moments like this happen in real life all the time), it just felt too on-the-nose for the generally more surprising and subtle Gilligan style.

I once binge-watched Lovejoy during finals season in Ireland. Afterwards, I spent months with this unquenchable desire to go buy antiques.

I think the comparison to Goldman Sachs is apropos. I can't imagine anything more depressing than working for a huge machine like Goldman Sachs. Jimmy doesn't want to become a dull cog in a law firm, where he has the drudgery of listening to what other people say. He wants to be his own boss with his own projects.

Oh no! It had way more promise than Dominion.

Good point about the couture problem…I think because she was walking on a runway-like conference table, her stature was more noticeable.

In fairness, I wouldn't remember what some older lady looked like whom I met when I was 6—even during a traumatic memory.

I didn't think the cut worked for her body type, but YMMV. The color was nice, though.

Worse, the ones who show her clothes that she DOES like.

I think she'll be someone we meet next season, who will be a Goines acolyte.

I'm guessing she will travel around the world writing feminist wrongs and making insane speeches on Fox News. Then she'll become a cult leader during the plague. Possibly she'll kill loads of people trying to make it to Spearhead.

Ughhhhh and YAY!

For some reason, I feel compelled to mention Utopia, a pre-apocalyptic "save everyone by killing everyone" sci-fi show that ended before its time.

Fuckin' paradoxical watches. How do they work?

I'm trying Helix out—I watched the first 4 episodes and I'm ready to bail. It's not fun to me because it's so gory. Is it worth sticking it out? I really like cerebral sci-fi, but I also like off-the-wall fun (I thought Alphas was thoroughly enjoyable). I just don't like gross-out horror. Should I keep going with

Ah, if the show manages to overlay another timeline (and does it successfully), I'll be suitably impressed. Much as I loved Fringe, I never thought it did well juggling multiple timelines.

I really wish that the writers didn't sideline the police officers so much; they felt like a lot of the moral center of the show (Keira was never much of a moral guide, Alec was too young to be the moral presence). S3 really suffered when all the cops became unrelatable.

I hope the series finale of Justified is just Olyphant locking up Sam Elliott and announcing that he can't come out until his mustache is ready.

Megan is about to get a hefty divorce settlement. She can continue starring in community theaters for the rest of her life.

Stan was definitely the hottest character this episode (but when isn't he?). The 70s look totally works for his cheekbones!

If this show weren't written by Matthew Weiner, that's how I would console myself. But Weiner loves showing that people can't really escape the drudgery of business. Ken Cosgrove will work for Dow until he has a depressing retirement party, like his father-in-law.
