Just wanted to point out that the Nobel Prize is given for an entire body of work, so it's wrong to say "I didn't think 1Q84 deserved the prize."

I'll repeat my comment fom above: I'm not judging you, or telling you what to do, but I don't want to be friends with people who enjoy this sort of film with enthusiasm, or because they think it's artistic, or it relieves some sort of stress that can only be relieved by watching virtual torture …
Even if these movies are technically good and emotionally resonant, I can honestly say that not only do I have no desire to see them, I also really can't see myself enjoying the company of someone who watches them enthusiastically.
