Ehh, different strengths. The Mini feels so, so luxurious and well put together in comparison. You’re getting less driveline, and more niceness.

Many of us are, but FCA is simply slashing wages by 20% across the floor, instead of laying off 20% of staff. They made the right call. I’m calling out the whiny “BUT WHAT ABOUT ME!” staff, who’d rather money fall from clouds or watch the whole ship sink.

Nobody at FCA “doesn’t make a ton”. Even the lowest-tier, push-a-broom staff, are well paid.

I feel as if a person can’t survive with a 20% pay cut, they’ve set themselves up for failure, and that’s their own damn fault. Now, going down to zero income for an undetermined and possibly extensive amount of time, that could be another story.

I mean, I put about 20% of my income towards my retirement fund, and at least 10% is discretionary spending - isn’t that kinda the norm? I'll take a 20% pay cut vs being laid off, any time.

Love it. I should go dig my Model 102 out of storage. 4 AA batteries should last it until, ooh, end of summer or so.

Almost wonder what stops them from pulling the seats from the cabin, handbombing lightweight cargo (N95 masks don’t weigh much!) onto skids in the cabin and lashing it down onto the seat mounting points?

I probably have this same Costco table. It also fits a Prius (now you know!), and cost $34.99 CAD. It’s a damn fine table!

Wow, I like it! What model is it? Lead acid batteries, or LiIon? Looks like a great island runner!

Had a 2nd gen fortwo for a while, with 3-bolt wheels. Loved that little thing - I miss it actually. More character and design in that goofy little car than any other I’ve owned.

Nope, all gasoline. In fact, they had to do an early retirement of all of the International buses which were diesel, due to them going into regen and clearing their DPFs during service. They were gassing riders and drivers during their routes and a lot of people were affected by it. The full-size busses are a mix of

I suspect this is mostly for the cutaway market - small transit busses, school busses, that sort of thing, which use the Express front end. We’ve got tons of these locally, and they really could use some more power. Fully loaded, in a hilly area, they don’t have much jam - and the engine duty cycle is harsh.

Makes a lot of sense, for cutaway vans.

Or better, invest some of your money when prices fall. Sit on it for the long-term and don’t make any knee-jerk reactions. In a few years time, you’ll thank yourself for it.

Tons of them in Vancouver, BC. They’ve really grown on me - cool looking car.

Now playing

A friend of mine has one of these, in the same trim level, with the 4-cylinder. He loves the thing. Paired with his ‘70 Mustang, it’s a great combo.

Pearson in Toronto has exactly this. I mailed a Makita drill battery back to myself for the cost of postage (~$8) plus a $5 packaging and service fee. I was really happy about it!

Absolutely. The best car is the 10-year old car, kept in good order.

We’ve been chip and pin in Canada for ~15 years, contactless (tap) for ~10 years. You can almost universally use tap to buy anything, anywhere, under $100 - and will have to use chip+pin for purchases over $100. Swipe is simply not a thing anymore anywhere - hasn’t been for a very long while.
