Dash-8s don’t have fuel jettisons. Flying around in circles is the only way to get rid of fuel in these.

Similar situation in British Columbia. Fuel tends to hover around $1.40 CAD /L. It spikes to $1.60 and sometimes falls to $1.30. Not much point in converting to USD, as we earn our money in CAD.

It better be cheap. Rental car facts, as I work in that industry:

I feel that mileage is irrelevant in modern cars: it all comes down to how it was used, where it was parked, and how the owner has treated the interior.

It can be done, it just becomes kind of silly and starts to require fairly intricate interlocks and safeties - arc fault detection, for instance. Conversion efficiency is likely to be kind of lousy, too, as the input voltage would have to be really high.
Just some shitty mental math: 600kW / 6kV = 100 amps —> that’s

You sure about that? If they have black stitching, it’s vinyl. White stitching was a leather thing. Pretty certain that even the US ones were vinyl! The solar roof was a 2011-2012 only thing. We had the black textured roof after that.

Nearly any upper-tier Visa card has CLDI coverage built in - you never need to worry about insurance at the rental counter.

Fleet customer here: Nissan has a really bad rep with fleets right now, after offering poor-to-no support on Versas and Sentras, which were experiencing a nearly 100% failure rate on their CVTs.

Definitely public transportation.

Exactly. I did the math with a family friend, for an EV. Then they said “but what about my summer trip up north? How am I supposed to do that?”

Place a paper sign in front of your parking space in your garage / parking lot, which says “CHARGING STATION”. In practice, I’ve nearly never charged anywhere except at home.

Do you _always_ only have 9 hours between plugging in and driving? Because every day that you leave it for 12 or 14 or whatever hours, you’re gaining more than you’ve used.

What do you need 240V for?

Neat seeing this article. Driven an 09 CSX-S many times, a good friend has one. It’s an awesome car - definitely one of those quirky, understated, rockingly fun cars that most people would never even consider until they've driven one.

Keep in mind: that’s 138hp at one very specific point on the rev curve. It puts out a lot less at any other RPM, and you’ve got a finite set of gear ratios.

Genuinely love the look of this - what a confident, cute little hatch! Love the colour scheme, too.

Exactly. Running, driving, rust free ones are rapidly being scrapped in Vancouver BC, because with fuel at $1.61/L, nobody wants one. Come get one...

Yup. The normal fare that I see is a rust free one, with a bad engine - heading straight for scrap.

If my commute were 4 miles, I’d simply run/jog it!

Fun food for thought: when driving in a modern automobile, there are advanced emission control systems, and a catalytic converter / after-treatment system.
