I like to run a timer of sorts whenever I’m being productive, so I like to run 2-3 hour playlists, and try to get the job done “before the timer expires” to keep from doddling along.

Or even full-blown enthusiasts who simply need a practical, reliable, inexpensive daily driver to go along with the weekend toy...

I’ve never understood where all of the Prius hate comes from? I own a ‘10 Prius and an ‘01 S2000. They complement each other well.

You think LA is good? Try Vancouver BC. We have just as little rust as LA, but also much much better paint and interiors due to the much lower temperature and much less UV light.

I’ve brought home a four-burner BBQ (in the box) in mine before. I kept a set of ratcheting straps inside. With the tailgate and window open, you can attach straps to the hooks which the tailgate latch to, which stick out of the chassis on the left and right of the car - so you can transport items while they stick out

How has your 451 held up over the years? I see your antenna snapped off (well, I’m guessing — but the antenna on my 2008 snapped off and I had a similar one screwed in as a replacement...). The clutch actuator gummed up at ~65,000km but taking it apart and re-greasing it fixed that. The clutch was being really funky

It’s interesting to see the difference between most of the US market, and the market in Vancouver, BC. Gas tends to float around $1.30/L here, and small cars are incredibly popular. Fiat 500s are -EVERYWHERE-, they’re super popular. There are six of them in my condo building’s parkade, even. The iQ didn’t take off

In dense cities where they’re fairly popular, there are independent shops that service them. Flying Tiger in Richmond BC is more than capable of fixing everything that goes wrong with the W450 and W451, for a lot less $ than the dealer!

I tried one about a week ago. Loved the steering, loved the power, loved the transmission, felt that the new gear shifter section felt cheap and the seats were so-so, but overall - neat car!

Way more to it than that. For fleets, it’s common for a lot of up-fitting to be necessary before the truck can be useful. Cranes, custom racking, ability to run on alternative fuels, custom lighting or radios, etc need to be installed. It can take upfitters quite a while to engineer new solutions to new models of

Great choice! I had a 2008 Fortwo Passion as a company car for a year. I still miss it - loved that thing! In an extremely dense city, its’ agility is such a luxury to have. It makes everything else feel like wearing a sumo suit.

Tell that to aviation. Oil will be around for a long time - but it will be going into plastics production, aviation and (ocean) shipping, rather than cars.

Engine fan viscous coupling.

Love it - great looking car!

Won’t work if it’s dead enough, even if it’s not an EFI car. The field coil in the alternator is an electromagnet - there are no permanent magnets inside. Unless there is something to energize that field coil (even weakly), it isn’t capable of generating electricity. So you need to have a battery which has at least a

I seriously wish in-flight WiFi didn’t exist - I hate it.

I had a loaded 2008 Cabrio as a company car for a few years. Took a few months to grow on me, but I LOVED that car.

Yeah all of them do! The plasticizers inside of the plastic (the chemicals which are supposed to keep it soft and pliable) leech out and create that smell, while the plastics get more and more brittle as time goes on...
