What’s not listed in your chart is the reduced “clearance” between an engine’s piston & piston pin. Because steel and aluminum have different rates of expansion (alum. is about twice that of steel), the machined clearance value at 77 deg F it’s around 0.0008. At 0 deg F, the clearance is gone; The piston-pin diameter
