A lot of name calling there from someone who apparently doesn’t play PC games (“You PC gamers”...) and therefore doesn’t have any skin in the game. I’m not sure why you are so worked up trying to defend Epic but maybe you need to take a deep breath or two.

I read plenty of Steam reviews that are informative or witty and actually aid me in a purchasing decision. In fact I’m not sure if I have ever really noticed “teenage memelords” in anything that I have looked at. Now if you're seeing those things maybe my taste of games is different enough to where that doesn't come

Jason’s take on Sekiro’s difficulty was right on the money with my feelings. When he said (paraphrasing) that he felt when he first played Bloodbourne was that every hour he was banging against his head against a wall against a boss he could have spent that hour playing a game where he was actually progressing. Yes I

I, on the other hand, will not buy a game without reading reviews as I find them to be a valuable piece of information. I think the amount of actual illegitimate review bombs are likely very low it just seems like there are more instances because anecdotes carry more weight than data.

And yet Epic isn’t competing against 2004 Steam, they are competing with 2019 Steam and all that comes with it. They chose to enter this market and they knew what they had to compete against and decided that they didn't want to compete on features and they can and should be criticized for it.

The thing is that people don’t seem to understand is that (most) people aren’t upset because it’s an extra launcher. They are upset because because Epic is buying exclusives they no longer have a choice on what storefront they buy from and the one that has the exclusive game does not have the features that other

“That’s what Islanders is doing here: removing all but the barest necessities from what we’d expect from a game built around the idea of carving human settlements out of nothing.

The games aren’t going exclusive to Epic because of the percentages, they are going exclusive on Epic because Epic is paying them a lot of money upfront to do so.  I don’t want Steam or GOG or any other PC storefront to do that practice as well.  Also I think it’s worth pointing out that with a game line Borderlands

The percentage is not the reason why these games are going exclusive to Epic, Epic is literally paying them for the exclusivity on top of the percentage.  Also if 30% is such an INSANE rate then where is all the pushback against Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Google, Apple, and pretty much every other storefront?

I have two kids, a full time job, a spouse that I occasionally want to have a conversation with, and several hobbies of which video games is just one. I basically get an hour and a half of free time a night and I need to use that time efficiently. Sekiro is a game I want to like and play, the lore and story seem

Anthem was always envisioned as an online multiplayer game, according to developers who worked on it, but it wasn’t always a loot shooter, the kind of game where you’d endlessly grind missions for new weapons.

I’m not sure their market is going to be "gamers" or just people who are interested in playing games. If the tech works people will be able to play next gen console games on their TVs for $100 (controller + chrome cast). For someone who might balk at a $399-499 PS5 or Xbox One Two that suddenly becomes an attractive

3. Game developers could have a wider audience to sell and play their games. I don’t see how this would affect streamers, they will just keep streaming.

I kind of feel like Jason went into “I don’t like this at all” with the Stadia (yes it is a bad name) and isn’t and isn’t seeing the forest through the trees. 12-18 months from now we’re going to have a new consoles coming out likely priced somewhere between $399-499. On the other side Stadia is advertising next-gen

I distinctly remember when I was growing up days where my parents were in their chairs reading a book and then my sister and I were on the floor in the living room reading something as well. The TV would have likely been on as background noise but everyone was reading. My kids are still a bit young for that (my oldest

I’m pretty interested in the whole thing. You’re telling me that I could have a way to play modern games on my TV at like 25% of the equipment cost? Everyone should be interested in that and it should open the doors for more people to get into games. Seems a bit much to me to dismiss it without knowing how it will

Henderson and Robinson were definitely Dudes in this exercise. IU could have won it all in ‘93 if Henderson didn’t hurt his knee late.

Expect nothing.

If it works then yeah I can see how it will make consoles obsolete, or at least very niche. Why would I spend $300-400 on a console when I could spend $50-100 (depending on the controller price) and play the same games at the same quality?

Someone said it best in yesterday’s post: If 18-20 year olds need to restrain a 64 year old person from going after an 18 year old because maybe they didn’t do something right in a basketball game then something is seriously wrong.
