No, cats who scratch do not necessarily bite. That's like suggesting that the guy who shoved you at the bus-stop is intending to stab you. If that cat had actually been attacking the baby in a manner requiring physical force to remove him then the kid would have had a lot more damage. Cats attack large targets by

I'd still bet 'domestic long-hair' over any purebred — ears and paws seem a bit small for a coon and there isn't much of a chin. I'm not so good with the ragdoll/ragamuffin standard but given their famous personality type I couldn't imagine what would piss them off enough to attack.

Personally, I think if you can't manage a relationship without the little piece of legal paperwork there is no reason to think you could manage it with the paperwork.

If the drug test is positive but there is no probation, is that enough to assure that CPS can continue to intervene? At least to keep an eye on the family even if the little girl goes back to her mother?

Probably a good idea to hold her name and protect the kid.

I know this is entirely beside the point but, that is not a Himalayan. The markings, body shape, coat and facial shape are wrong. Himmies have squashed faces and long, dense coats (exactly like persians) with the color points of a Siamese cat. They do not have white markings.

I'm a little concerned about the 'pet psychologist'. The person you want is an animal behaviorist, someone with actual medical training and a background in psychology. 'Pet psychologist' is sometimes the same as 'pet psychic'.

I can't imagine that is the first time this cat has been kicked.

As long as you don't act like a violent person in court, you'll be fine.

Make sure you have a calculated dosage if you are worried about this. Without giving the correct amount of alcohol you are trading kidney failure for liver failure.

I can't figure out if this is more 'Big Brother' or high school guidance counselor preaching about what will go on your 'permanent record'.

So, raising the minimum wage and closing the wage gap a little would more effectively stop abortions than scaring women away from health care? I'd love to see that theory floated at CPAC.

I still shudder thinking about the post-church crowd when I worked a grocery store bakery. Impatient parents who were up too early that morning and are now dressed in uncomfortable formal clothing, and their wired, can't-behave-anymore kids. Need to pick up something for that Sunday-dinner-with-family-we-don't-like.

Ditto. I don't have the drug or medical background to identify a heroin-nod from a tired-mother nod. It wouldn't occur to me to call 911, I probably would have asked if she's okay and then ignored the situation — it kind of looks like someone did that, patting her on the back briefly in the video.

To be fair, the pain control for the splenectomy will probably cover any residual pain from the tattoo — and I'm sure the dog is being well dosed with antibiotics besides. If you absolutely had to tattoo your dog, doing it under medical supervision while the dog is sedated and followed with antibiotics is the

Thanks for pointing this out! Until I saw the picture, I figured the tattoo was done at the same time as the splenectomy — which is still a bad idea but not as lethally stupid. It's clear from the picture though that the dog would have had to be repositioned.

Racing greyhounds are tattooed in both ears with identification. Many are also microchipped, but you need a scanner to read a microchip and you only need eyes to see a tattoo.

Sorry, I get pissed off with the term "biblical manner" since it so very, very often abused

Nope, not the only one. I was really confused when Christian Man said that girls need a relationship with a non-existent god. The 'legs on their faith' made me think of those darwin fish with the little legs that people put on their cars . . .
