Quite a few mouse studies are used just to rule out approaches that don't work, more than to prove what does. If something DOESN'T work in mice it's unlikely to be found to work in a primate.

Now that you mention it, in my Canadian youth I don't remember being segregated. Junior high, I think, we were still together for most stuff, but high school was segregated.
My dear hubby doesn't fake being sick. He comes from the Clint-Eastwood-tough-guy school of health, where everything could be fixed with duck tape and bag balm. However, once he does get sick enough that he is forced to admit it, then it's the end of the world.
It's so nice to see a video where the cats aren't being made fun of or artificially manipulated. These are some honestly happy, loving cats with a human who loves them back.
Hah, I was thinking the same thing. Clearly these people did not get the Aby-prep-pack of bolts, nails and superglue to appropriately prepare the household.
Anything that moves is a cat toy. Anything that does not move is a scratching post.
If I thought someone stole my dog I don't think a light display would even make the list of offensive activities I might engage in.
So, is this an outgrowth of the American theory that healthcare isn't a right, it's a privilege? Or does this also happen in countries where healthcare is more equally distributed.
Spiteful, lazy jerk on the curb isn't getting the laundry done either. I'd rather have clean underwear than a grudge. Of course, my DH isn't a spiteful, lazy jerk — just not so good at remembering that jeans take longer to dry than t-shirts.
The women in these men's lives are not being manipulative enough. Basic training theory says that rewarded behaviors are repeated. So even if he dumps bleach in with the laundry, you tell him that he tried so hard, you really appreciate him working at it, and wasn't he sweet to try. You're sure he can figure it out…
You don't feel you've committed a crime, and I don't feel you should be allowed to continue to access the world's supply of oxygen. How about we split the difference and I will believe your innocence when you protest it from the surface of the sun?
Great, now I have to burn my house down to get rid of that mental image.
Colors were the easiest wedding decision to make. Black and white, easy to find and the bridesmaids can wear whatever flattering little black dress they want (the only bridesmaids dresses ever that could be worn again). Any added color looks like a delightful accent. We've actually talked some engaged friends off…
I'm 6'1" and my husband is, well, about breast height for me. My very tall brother found a significantly shorter bride, but my pretty tall sister found a guy nearly exactly her height. Tall runs in my family.
Basically, every mammal has a seizure threshold. Animals that have have lowered seizure thresholds due to stress, poison, physical damage, age, low blood sugar etc. In our case, we made sure Ripley's blood work and general health was good to assure the seizures weren't a sign of something else and now we're just…
I'll have to watch for this, one of my kitties has idiopathic seizures maybe twice a year. It would be nice to have a trigger to watch for, though I'm not sure it's something I could avoid.
Oh, honey, don't worry about the miscarriage. I'll just grab a few of those spare babies I left with my ex-girlfriends.
Don't count your convictions before they are, er, hatched? I'm sure the charges will be shrunken shadows of themselves by the time the plea bargaining takes place.
So if you are pregnant, you can be jailed or enrolled in a drug treatment program against your will if anyone has doubts about your sobriety. You are not permitted to 'abduct' your fetus by taking it with you when you visit another state. You are not permitted to end your pregnancy, at least according to the majority…
