Wow. Lawyer here. At a very surface level, this seems like an incredibly bad idea, and arguably on the edge of legality in several states. I don't see how one could not categorize this website as attempting to provide automated legal advice without a license.
If you have an account with NameCheap, you can use one of your own domains and their free DDNS service. It works through their own client or a number of others, including a linux script that will work on DD-WRT and other derivatives . The domain you use doesn't even have to be registered with them, though I think…
What a terrifically clever hack! The only caveat I can see is that you'd have to be sure your drawers are deep enough for anything wider than a 10" skillet. I know for sure my 12" sauté pan and 12" fry pan would never fit on-edge in my drawers.
To be honest and boring, it depends on the sort of relationship you want with your pet. If you want a little buddy that adores you and wants to partake in your life all the time, get a dog. If you want a pet that's more like a roommate providing ambient companionship, seemingly living their own busy life along with…
Guess how many times I've had to walk my cat this winter?
WiMo units are also available to control mains outlets, so they could in theory turn on whatever you had plugged in. There are also concerns that someone could take deeper control and cause an electrical problem inside the devices themselves (via rapid switching, for example).
Avoid the WeMo devices. They've all been compromised. http://www.ioactive.com/news-events/IO…
If I'm not mistaken, when you dim lights or other electrical devices, you're using MORE power because the resistance is increasing.
And if you don't wanna go through all the trouble, you can just buy a plug in dimmer:
I hate it when websites mandate specific password requirements. Its fine to tell me my password sucks, but if I want a weak password for your crappy photo sharing site then I should be allowed to have one. I appreciate sites that give their users a freedom of choice.

Why: so far it opens everything I throw at it. (Period)
It's been quite a few years since I had a science class but a candle gives off a certain amount of heat. Putting it in a flower pot isn't going to increase that it will still be the same.
This is shockingly inefficient. A tea candle is at most 1000BTU. vs 91,000BTU in a $2.25 gallon of propane, you need 91 candles to match it so your candles must cost less that 2.5cents. The best prices I could find are about 9cents per candle through amazon. quick math 3.5x more expensive than propane.
So, how does a bread pan and a couple of flower pots contribute to any increase in net thermal energy being transferred to the room? Why wouldn't four candles burning openly dump the same amount of heat (without the added problem of a super-heated ceramic pot to deal with)? Since he's placed the whole contraption in…
