-Deb would have had to work with Fiona to even get through prenatal care and delivery.

I feel like Fiona (and Debbie) being a shitty “parent” is pretty on par for the world of the show.

You don’t just get to give an ultimatum to a child you are legally responsible for. I can’t tell my daughter, “you get your belly button pierced and I’m not buying you food anymore” at least not without child protective services coming around.

I’d really love to hear from the people who know where the US law stands on this, but the entire roofer plotline looks like epic bullshit.

I mean, Fiona’s 26 or 28, and this season was her finally deciding to live a life of her own. But even before that, she gave Debbie an ultimatum about having Frannie, basically saying that, if she had the baby, she’d be the one responsible for her. It’s almost like a passing of the baton since Fiona was so young when

YEAH I was screaming at the tv this whole episode YOU CAN LITERALLY JUST CALL THE COPS ON THEM ITS YOUR BUILDING. I seriously don’t know why I deal with this every week anymore

Shameless has always existed in an alternate universe where public assistance doesn’t exist.

Of course were rapidly becoming said universe but that doesn’t excuse the last 8 years.

I’m sure that Kassadi’s parents will swoop in and take Kassadi home in the next episode. It doesn’t matter that she and Carl used fake IDs - to my knowledge, their marriage isn’t legal. It’s sad that I prefer Jimmy-Steve’s “fake poor” plot to whatever this Kassadi crap is.

This show has always been bonkers but lately there is no reality to so many of the issue of the kids.

Yeah, that's a good tip and at the very least, a worthwhile experiment to try out

One thing that I think can help is considering the "evil voice" in my head an outside entity. It really seems like there's something in my head that takes perverse glee in making me feel like I'm not worth anything.
