Yep, I see it more as the brands are responding to customers NOT wanting to know more so than the brands not wanting them to know.

Working in a repair shop, I’ve seen more and more boxes of OEM parts, (Delco, Motorcraft, Mercedes, Febi/Bilstein, etc) that have parts made in China on the box. Just as the US can produce both quality and crap, the same is true with places like China.
