Most of that went to marketing. And a Vimeo Plus account.

I really need to see Enemy; it looks to be right up my alley, and I'm not sure why I keep putting it off.

While I liked Prisoner, Arrival felt a bit over-directed. (And yes, I'm utterly alone in that assessment.)

So, was that the toad scene from the book? Are they bringing Mercerism into the plot?

Yes! Trania all around!

Can I pass on this movie if I don't have an account?

Can't some rich, white frat boys burp-sing their way through "Hail to the Chief"?

It would have been nice to get the central exorcisms out of the way in the season's first half, then move on to the "macro" elements of the story: the class/racial disparity in how victims are treated; the city-wide, maybe planet-wide conspiracy, etc. Repetition drained much of my interest.

I was looking forward to this, having seen The Sound of My Voice and The East. But to be honest, just getting to episode 4 has been a slog. I'm not finding anyone with whom to sympathize…the parents, maybe, but I think I'm being set-up.

Your do-good attitude has successfully defused my snark. But I'll be back…just you wait and see.

I've not seen any of her work in it's entirety. But from what I have seen (including that speech), her oeuvre consists largely of her getting drunk, wiping herself, etc. Beyond shattering comedy's glass-toilet, what am I missing? What's her best work? (I would like to give it a chance.)

When I think of Cameron, I think of Ed Harris bantering with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in The Abyss, or later, watching her drown. The guy's a great director of actors, who's also great at arranging complicated spectacles in physical spaces. (The documentary on the making of The Abyss is remarkable.)

Loved BM (oh, that's awkward), but never heard of this one. It certainly never showed up on the shelves of Electronic Boutique, next to Legend of Kyrandia: Malcolm's Revenge. Frankly, I'm a little miffed.

So how did you like Godzilla (2014)? Outside of the train sequence, and maybe some bits at the beginning, I was a little underwhelmed.

Can we reset the comments once the film…you know…actually opens?

"…the uncanny valley of architecture." That's funny, in that I'd written the exact same phrase before I saw yours.

They're also creepy: too big for intimate habitation or anything approaching "cozy." The anonymity of the environment is off-putting: yawning kitchens, stark halogens, and marbled "island" outcroppings; there's never enough light, and the daylight overspill makes everything look sad.

Always those tiny windows…like the builders only had three sizes of pre-hung windows available, none of which make any proportional sense within those massive planes of exterior walls.

Thanks for calling out Francis Guinan, aka "Brother Simon." He's been a real standout on the show. The episode's creepiest shot was that flash-forward to him on the street, walking next to the motorcade, grinning at the horrified crowds. Nice location work, and a nice contrast to all that set-bound stuff.

I shall miss the Lone Gunmen. They brought some much appreciated camp to the show.
