I guess I’m in the minority here, but I thought that the Great Sky Island was a genius section of game design. It flowed naturally and felt like it trusted the player to figure it out, and left multiple paths forward for quite a few areas (including that last shrine, which I do admit was a doozy). But all of that was…
That’s the whole point. You’re totally allowed to dislike it (it’s not for everyone), but the tone seems to work for a lot of people. There’s a lot of appeal in how caustic it is. I also wouldn’t say that the characters are unsympathetic. They are totally terrible people, as illustrated by this most recent episode.…
They managed to turn Roman from one of my favorite characters to my most hated. This isn’t a dig on the show. I’m just unhappy I fell for the trap of them humanizing him.
Another episode owned by Sarah. That was amazing to watch as Shiv watched Kendall make the call that would expose her entire plan.
(Responding solely to the headline and subhead because I still do not accept the pivot to video.)
You think Microsoft would keep something unprofitable running forever?
The fact that multiplatform games seem to consistently perform better on PS5 than Series X and has more hardware-specific features doesn’t help. Elden Ring for example, and Jedi Survivor more recently. At this point I mostly get multiplatform for PS5 because of spatial audio (which costs money on Xbox), better…
It seems like with this realization they should just go ahead and make Starfield for PS too because ultimately he’s right - I’m not buying an Xbox. I’ll buy Starfield on PC instead. But if they know it’s not going to be a big decider, then why eliminate a big chunk of their market for the game by making it console…
I bought all three, so I can play all the exclusives. But my daily driver will always be the PS5 for games that aren’t exclusive.
So dumb. Its not my back catalog the drives me to buy a console, that matters in the first year when the new games are fewer. Sony lost the ps3 generation ( i know they technically outsold, but they lost being the prime console for the majority of the gen), but focused on the exclusives and gave people a reason to…
Although they’re also at a slight disadvantage as the majority of exclusive Series titles are also on PC at the same time as console.
I tend to prefer more single player games, and Nintendo and Playstation tend to have a better selection of those in their exclusives. Plus, as a commenter already said here, cost for PC set-up, and all that to get quality performance for some of these games just ain’t for me. And it seems there’s a lot of folks like…
He’s not wrong. I’m not going to buy an Xbox just to play Starfield, but probably would buy Starfield for my PS5. So... maybe consider releasing it on that platform?
As someone who likes a lot JRPGs and other weird stuff, I know the Playstation/Nintendo is probably going to get what I like first, and Xbox may not get it at all. Their inability to make inroads in Japan has really kind of hobbled their offerings.
PS5 exclusives release on PC months or years later, so, that’s not a valid argument. PlayStation has better exclusives, by any metric, full stop. There’s no debating that. If you want to use the it’s not an exclusive because it’s also on PC argument, there’s even less of a reason to buy an Xbox over a PS5 because…
A modern GPU costs more than a console, so it doesn’t really matter to a console consumer if 2018's God of War is on PC - especially when the ports they’ve put out have had performance issues. They also haven’t brought over any more recent Playstation exclusives yet to PC. It’ll likely be a few more years at least…
PS5 has God of War and Spider-Man. For me at least, that was enough to chose that over the Xbox.
He’s definitely correct in that it’s highly unlikely someone will sell their PS5 or Switch to pick up a Xbox Series, so the focus really needs to be on committing to their current player-base and trying to be that 2nd console for those who only have one of the other machines. Great games will help there. Although…
The lack of confidence and focus is the ongoing issue.
