We got the novel, THE SIEGE AT TREACHER'S FARM in at the office. It's not too good. (Less rape-y, just as sexist. Apparently the author thought Peckinpah's version was sick.) But in the book, the protagonist is directly inspired by watching old Westerns. So there's that.
