Sorry, that kind of sounds like a load of BS. When someone is trying to make a recipe, they want to actually make the damn dish! It’s not about art, it’s about eating the meal the actually set out to eat. This attidude is what pushes people away from cooking.

I recently read a recipe from a 17th century cookbook (might have even been linked on this website), and it annoyed me so much in how opaque it was. Just a listing of ingredients with no measurements of any kind or process details. I guess back then the process would have been much the same no matter what you cooked,

I feel weird, should i have heard of this sandwich? My parents are both from north of Porto, we’ve eating traditional Portuguese food all my life, and I’ve never heard of this sandwich. Maybe my parents are from an area just outside of the zone this is popular in.

I’m here for this glorious mess, love your review. This sounds right up my alley in terms of loving the systems Kojima builds and scratching my head (and ultimately laughing at) the convoluted stories he dresses them with.  Would you say the world building shares aspects with the base building of MGS5?

...what’s there to celebrate here? “fine, i guess I’m the asshole”. Wow! Brave!

My brother keeps telling me to buy it since we have both become huge Souls fans (since Bloodborne was released on PS+, we have both bought all DS games and their expansion packs. He even bought Demon Souls on PC). I was about to bite the bullet and buy Nioh on his recommendation, so this saves me the money.

Weren’t we all told that a white person shouldn’t even bother running for the Democratic nomination anymore? It’s just so hard for them, only minorities could win a Democratic primary, etc etc etc. lol, all it took was 2 non-white male candidates for white men to freak out, and here we are with 3 of the top 4

Right! That’s another one, a writer of one medium moving to comic books is another tough one that not all have done successfully. Each style of writing has it’s own rules and quirks and being good at using the right verbs and nouns doesn’t make you good at writing in a particular style.

I heard Norton on Bill Simmons podcast last week, and he does talk about the role and the research, including incorporating stuff from an NBA player who had Tourette’s.  While I can’t vouch for his authenticity, he at least seemed to take it seriously and treat it as something that is real, and not a joke.

They didn’t piss away the fandom though. I mean, they kept the fans right to the end hoping that they’d “fix” what they screwed up. A show like “The Walking Dead” pissed away a large fandom, they have like half the viewership from their peak. But GoT stayed popular right to the end. So the fans powered through, for

Writing a book and writing a TV show and writing a movie and writing a play and writing a blog post and writing a newspaper article...all are writing, all are different. Saying doing one makes you experienced at doing the other is to minimize the big differences they each have.

From what I’ve rad about this, it’s more about the entire 30 year journey, so it will definitely dig into the “Ivan” charges. It’s a really fascinating story with lots of twists and turns, so i’m sure the documentary will make it vague until revealing the truth (that true crime staple...trick the audience!).

So, “evil person” but “not that evil person”.

I remember going to my older cousins house when I was young and watching him use graph paper to map out the first Doom.

i live in a condo in downtown Toronto. just exiting my building and walking maybe 10 minutes gets me to “great” restaurants. But just exiting my building and walking 30 seconds gets me to 3 “good enough” restaurants. And I’m happy with that.

You got the sunk cost fallacy wrong Gita! It is essentially, “the time/money you spent is gone. Don’t let it have any bearing on your future decisions.” You actually followed it correctly. Whatever time you spent on the game was irrelevant to your decision today, you avoided the sunk cost fallacy.

i’d read that before, it’s a fantastic article on this. Thanks for posting it, everyone should read it!

Rap artists of that era...yeah, the rap artists of the 60's and 70's go up to 1995, lol (of course modern rap is pretty much an 80's invention, and the 80's are also terribly represented on this list).

The criticism I have with that complaint is, most complaints about this list is how stuck it is in a very specific time and place, and then I see some people agreeing and saying...it missed this guy who is exactly of that time and place and whose bandmates are already represented.

Lol, i’m not actually blaming boomers, i’m just saying these lists are made by them and for them. I actually blame the terrible Jann Wenner, who is so stuck in that time period, and who controls RS and the Rock and Roll HOF.
