Can somebody say snake oil?

Possibly the most inane comment I've ever seen.

Plus side is discounted books (albeit sometimes of dubious quality) and the huge library of public domain books that you'd otherwise pay for a printed copy. It's amazing how many free classics are out there at Project Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

Was just about to say this. Plus, Spain isn't exactly doing great right now, so their economy could use all the help it can get.

Yes, we're all very impressed at your art snobbery and jet-setting, both of which you managed to succinctly convey in eight words. Well done, sir.

This wouldn't happen because there is actually no virus present inside the patient's body. It's administered to her T-cells outside of her body and then the cells are given back to her. The vector is replication-deficient and there's no danger of it affecting her anyone who she comes in contact with.

The genes that make HIV harmful and able to replicate itself are not present in this "version of HIV." They're using the virus as a vector to carry the gene for the CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) to the T-cells, where the cells will express this receptor and destroy cancer cells.

Sorry, but that's pseudoscience. In the phase II trial, 8 out of 9 patients died of their tumors and all 9 died before the study was over: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.3322/canjclin.54.2.110/full

That's what color correction is for, yo. It's also Vimeo which means it's heavily compressed.

No "via reddit" at the bottom of the article?

Looking back on this comment, I've realized that $2,300 would in fact cover your bed if it were in ones. Heck, it could even be in fives and it'd still cover your bed. Tens wouldn't work though.

Oops, same one. I assumed they were different because I didn't click on yours or actually either AMA threads. I'm a terrible internet citizen.

And another one by a guy whose house was crashed into:

1000 thread count?

Robots do everything for you. I think Tom might be a robot with a broken attention dial stuck on 11.

Tom is the kind of boyfriend you see on Lifetime movies. At first he seems caring and loving. But then he turns jealous...and deadly.

Middle one looks like Michael Ian Black.

Where'd you find that image? It's a good one. This is one of my favorites too from xkcd.

Yeah, this is really poor of Gizmodo to represent this as "proof." Sure, their coverage on gadgets and some other things is great, but they really need to brush up on their science.

No I.D., no Slim Jims.
