The Nexus 7 and Jelly Bean are big aces in Google's deck. Apple will have to match the $199 price, because that is the biggest factor here. It'll be very interesting to see if Apple is willing to damage it's brand to go "cheap". Sure advertising on google.com is huge, and priceless, but at the end of the day money

Wow a convert! I knew this would be happening slowly but gradually. Now that Android is not just good, but also flashy and shiny and smooth it'll probably get more people to switch.

Damn Fido is pissing on the couch! Where is the shock button on this thing?

I don't find the color that bad. Poor Samsung has no love here at Giz...

Thanks for the link, it's an interesting read. I'm just saying if Apple pisses off Google enough, they have the power to say "Well you can fuck with us but, Motorola's communication over radio waves patent will not be licensed to you any more, go to hell!" The patent was made up of course I don't know if they hold it

This will never end... It'll be and out of court settlement in the end.

The big picture here is that companies like Apple get patents granted for things that have been around and in use for years, if not decades. The big picture here is that the patenting system needs to be overhauled, and laws need to ensure that only patents that a legitimate get accepted. I mean come on, if that person

The word here is "innovative", you said it. How is patenting a black rectangle with rounded off corners in any way innovative? How is patenting a tablet design that has been featured in countless movies innovative? How is patenting universal search, that is in basically all operation systems, and has been for a decade

LOL... yeah "pretty sure"... the thin here is they decide, not us. So everything they deem "unsafe" will be ditched. Just like Apple they'll will probably restrict those apps that are a danger to their own products, like Open Office vs. Office, and so on. They'll find a bullshit excuse to do it, like a "security flaw"

They'll get sued because they monitor everything, not because they thing all of us are dumb idiots, who can not tell the difference between a legitimate app and a fake virus collection.

I made the switch years ago. I recommend Ubuntu. It's easy to use and has everything you need right out of the box. Need more? There's a software center where you can download apps for free. Don't be afraid of it, Linux has evolved sooo much form the command line and the crappy UI age. The UI is actually beautiful,

You have a point about copies not being good for innovation, but damn it how can you defend patenting bullshit like black rectangles with rounded off corners, and universal search in a computer system. I mean come ooon! This is plain bullcrap. The best form for a screen is a rectangle, and people like black, and

Yes this is what I was yapping for ages. Have normal limits on patents, and of course have only valid patents, not fucking black rectangles with rounded corners...

Totally agree with you there

These CubeSats are great, but what do they really do?

Awesome :D You can burn a lot more than ants with this thing :)

It's not the same thing I think. McAffee being just an app and Win8 being the OS. It's good that I can opt out of this. My whole beef with this is, I don't want Microsoft , McAffee, or anyone else telling what's safe or not. The sky is surly not falling, I rarely use either of them, thanks to Linux I'm safe and sound

I'm sure you're right on the money. This is nothing new, it's just packaged differently and targeted towards "hip" Moleskin users.

Genetically engineered bacteria out in the real world... what could wrong? :D

This just shows, there's nothing hindering creativity, when it comes to booze...
