I can respect that, appreciation of art is subjective. I don’t feel he’s sincere in his messages (or at least assured enough as an artist to back them up). I don’t resent people for enjoying his work though. I’m glad you do.

Oh man, I finally saw Split a couple months ago, and holeeeee shit. People gave Shyamalan a lot of shit for all his years of being wedded to twist endings, but Split really made me feel bad about what we could have had.

Goddamnit Kotaku I thought we talked about this, don’t make me cry with your articles. We had a good streak. You’re grounded.

All genres run their course. No reason you can’t jump in and do something interesting during the zeitgeist.

well, i mean i was a very small child at the time, but they were just super messy, bedraggled, creatures, living in filth. i mean i dont really remember the show very well, i just have this negative feeling towards it when i think back.

That’s fine, but he’s always come off as a giant ass to me before, and I honestly wasn’t much of a fan of R&S to begin with. You can keep watching it, but I’m pretty much done with it.

Yea, I’m not so sure about that soon thing. If all the superhero movies felt the same then yes I’d say we’d be headed to burn out and fatigue. But the studios seem to get that they need to shake up the formula so that Deadpool 2 is going to feel nothing like Black Panther.

We’re 20 years in and Black Panther just broke records and Infinity War will undoubtedly break more. “Soon” is not a word I’d use.

3D printer printing game carts to smuggle drugs. Yep that’s 100% 80s anime cyber-punk crime.

People tend to forget that Blade Runner was almost universally despised when it came out at the end of June 1982, two weeks after E.T. began its wholesale dominance of popular culture. Critics panned it, audiences were baffled by it, and it didn’t even begin to find an audience until it found its way to video and

Glad del Toro has finally gotten the Oscars he really deserves (although only by making his most Oscar-bait film yet) and that Jordan Peele didn’t walk away empty-handed, but Get Out should have been the best picture winner, no matter how much I love The Shape of Water.

Although...Andy Serkis was really great in Black Panther with only a CGI arm. He did a fantastic job of being imposing and convincingly scary, and, at the same time, gonzo and weirdly likable.

Man, movie tie-ins sure have come a long way since I was a kid !

Is it bioluminescent or glow in the dark? With some glowy lights it’d be easier to find this firm shape of water for some night time nautical naughtiness. :P

Now we know who watches the Watchmen.

I actually enjoyed the movie, I’m kind of surprised they are making a movie sequel to it. I thought the world building (though small) was interesting enough that I would have liked to have seen a TV series about it, and thought maybe they would go in that direction instead. A LOTR perspective in modern times is really

Sweet jesus...I want that black jacket with classic Sonic stitch! ...damn!

I liked most of the new movie - the characters, the costumes, and the regular Zords. But I will say that I wasn’t a fan of the new Megazord. It just didn’t feel enough like 5 individual things combined, I want to be able to see which part is which.
