I’ve heard a lot of stories that beg to differ. They tend to say competitive is far worse than casual play, as well. Obviously everyone’s experiences can differ, but it’s still not a game I’m particularly tempted to try.

Eh, people do tend to follow examples set by their peers, though. If no one in a party is laughing at one wackjob’s sexist/racist jokes, chances are he’ll quiet down. He may not, of course, but reporting/muting is probably your best bet. If no one engages, most of the time, the bad behavior dwindles.

I just make it a point to not give a shit what the owner of any establishment thinks or supports. To each their own. Like you said, it’d be exhausting to try and determine the owner’s politics of every single place I go. Not worth it.
