I would feel very differently about this if, as I assumed going into the article, the new family had had the dog for an extended period. Who has the dog first is kind of meaningless to me, it's about bonding. If I had picked up a dog from a Craigslist ad, with no indication the seller was not the only claimant to the

Always a good life decision.

Recommending and commenting simply to enhance an already enhanced number,

Please note that that comment was in response to a post that was approximately 90% about someone else's resume. And as a follow-up to another person mentioning that that original post was mostly a resume. I was following suit, not intending to actually be making an argument. I actually think my JD is pretty worthless

Thanks for the support. I am really not meaning to be rude in this though, especially not in my first comment. I was just trying to correct what is a common misperception (although I now recognize the reason Kat said it was not because of a misunderstanding but because of a different interpretation). Always nice to

I apologize for any appearance of rudeness, I was bowing out because I had to go to sleep. As I will again, soon. I truly wish I could just have online discussions for hours on end, but I can't. If Kat had responded, I would have been happy to have picked up the discussion tonight, and over a more lengthy time period.

Well Kat, it's nice to meet you (I feel like I've seen some of your posts before, but never engaged in a conversation).

If we're going off resumes, I'm just going to put my JD on the table and walk away.

If we're going off content, then I stand by the fact that UN resolutions do not make international law in any meaningful way (and if you think they do, then there are a whole host of new international law violations that most people do

On a pedantic note, it is not against international law. Sure, there are international statements saying that sexual-orientation or gender-identity discrimination is unacceptable, but that is not what international law is. Some international law is based on treaties (so it is against international law for Japan to

It honestly depends on what you're going for (and assuming your personal sleep cycle is 90 minutes—it can vary for individuals). If you're going for pure rest—that is, making your body more functional by getting all the possible benefits from sleep—then go to bed right away. If you're going for restedness—that is,

Wind Waker, absolutely. I actually stopped playing both Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword after about two hours in each. Part of that was because I absolutely hate the long introductory sequences that now seem mandatory (I dealt with it in WW, but that didn't feel as monotonous for some reason). But a large part was

Pleading guilty will result (because that's the point) in a reduced sentence. She may not have been confident she could win a case against a jury. Whether or not the law was on her side, it still, at the end, comes down to twelve individuals who may or may not decide that a black trans woman is not worthy of going

As a man who likely will some day be working in a hiring position in a male-dominated industry, do you have any tips on how I should handle this situation? I want to help change a lot of the sexist problems that arise, but if no women apply I honestly have no idea what to do. The article seems to try to suggest

My fiance and I say essentially "dog-gay." Or like how a Canadaian would stereotypically refer to a dog ("Dog, eh"). There's a huge pause between the syllables, too.

WD-40?

Thanks to you both. That's what I figured, but I've taken to making sure things I assume about construction are run by others before acting. Bad experiences from just running in.

Is there a similar fix for a door that won't stay open? I have a door that will slowly drift shut (obviously not snuggly, but enough that having it wide open is impossible without some sort of stop). I'd like to fix it without having to deal with taking everything apart.

It's both his word and his format. Just like whoever invented Skype invented both the program (or at least put their own spin on a type of program that existed) and the name. Same with Twitter, Facebook, and any other novel idea. You invent it, you get to name it. That's an old practice and one we should not be

I would counter your claim that it is counter-intuitive. I tend to read "gi" as a soft g in any new context. Now, sure, there are many cases where it is a hard g, but for me, in my little subjective bubble, and especially at the beginning of words, "gi" naturally turns into the soft noise rather than the hard.

His logic was the same as yours. Same reason SCUBA isn't pronounced "SC-uh-BA" even though the U stands for "Underwater" and LASER isn't pronounced "L-ah-ser" even though the A stands for "amplification." A letter of the acronym having a certain pronunciation in the original word does not mean it must, or even should,
