Alice Cooper: School's Out

I'm always trying to find comics which fall somewhere between mainstream (superheroes) and indie (black and white autobiographies of a sad comic book artist wanking in a basement apartment). For that kind of stuff Image really is unbeatable: Saga (both my and my wife's favorite), Fatale, Manhattan Projects…

It was kinda weird: she had almost no lines during the whole season and at least one time when she did, it was a meta-joke about her having no lines. The writers must've really disliked her or something.

I don't know what it says about me (probably that I'm old), but I did notice that immediately. It's a floppy, not a USB drive!

Did the actor playing Shirley do something to piss off writers or what was going on? I'm not the biggest Community fan, but even I noticed that during the last season Shirley was relegated to just hanging out in the background.

I'm genuinely impressed. I've never before heard of anybody using C64 for something useful (even though pretty much every C64 was probably sold under the pretense of "learning about computers" or "using it for school work", but in reality they were used for playing California Games and Commando).

I wouldn't worry about the "point A, meet point B" stuff that was going on, as pretty much every genre show ever has had its first episode filled with it.

So a failed humorous spin off of a mostly-not-humorous show? I hope Better Call Saul is going to do better…

Wow, thanks for the tip. I love real life espionage stuff so bought this one instantly.

Eggo?

So the Wachowskis "can still secure a six-digit budget"? Jupiter Ascending looks pretty impressive for a film made with under million bucks…

Just listened to it on Spotify. I'm not the biggest RyG fan, but even I have to say the new album is -really- good. I'd say it's their best work by far and the songs are different enough to make the whole thing work as an album (a rare thing nowadays).

Has there ever been a solo album that was not pretty bad compared to what the musician achieved as a part of his or her band?

I'll vote for Simpsons Bible Stories too. I watched the whole episode and realized I don't need to watch Simpsons anymore (I seem to remember Bible Stories capped off a particularly terrible run of episodes).

The all time best life meter is in C64's Thai Boxing. The life meter is a small picture of a boxer's face and as he gets beaten up, he starts getting bruises and cuts (which bleed) on his face. In between rounds a cutman fixes what he can, but in the end the dude's face looks like ground beef. I'm surprised no modern

Gaad's clearly desperate so it's not the greatest threat, but it does make some sense: Soviet Union has a lot more to lose in the spy game at this point than USA (to the extent that Soviets used to think of espionage as an important way of saving money/resources on scientific research, since you can just steal that

Even the occasional good moments are far apart at this point. I don't know how exactly the budget cuts affected the show, but something definitely happened: Suburgatory just feels dead.

Twist: Reposted a7x Fan just comes up with those quotes, they aren't actually reposted from anywhere.

"often the inferior product wins" - "like jesus. over satan."

I remember reading that Buzzcocks was named after a weird british greeting of the time: "what's the buzz, cocks".
