I wouldn't call them copycats, but they definitely did borrow songs like Ever Fallen In Love, Suspect Device and others on their last album in a way that was very hard to miss. For me personally that made the album dull, as I've heard the same material done better years ago.

Are these guys now doing their own thing? I know and understand that borrowing riffs and ideas from other bands is a time honored rock'n'roll tradition, but I couldn't get through the last album due to them sounding at times like a cover band.

Thanks for the info. I'll be checking it out, especially since in the first season I kinda liked Juliette - all her scenes were so mind-bogglingly awful it was hard not to be entertained by them.

Isn't the common theme here that Rick trusts people he has somekind of history with (Michonne, Merle, Morgan) and distrusts everybody else (Tyrese, the hitchhiker)? The Walking Dead is often funny, but behavior like that isn't that far fetched. At least I've seen similar things in real life, people trusting obvious

I thought Grimm's first season was almost ok with tons of room for improvement. Is it worth it to try to watch the second season?

Woooo! AV Club spring break!

I for one hope AV Club is bulldozed to make way for Matlock Expressway.

I would agree that 73(!?) is "pretty old", especially for a father of a 4 year old.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus I've personally noticed that if some band isn't found in Spotify, then that band kinda ceases to exist for me. I'll just go on to the next thing: there is always more amazing music to be found so no reason to get too hung up on one band.

It is a sign of a first class internet commenter when a person has the common decency to use spoiler warning when talking about Red Zone Cuba.

Emmanuelle Riva is going to win because average Oscar voter thinks she's a hot young thing.

Starring Bradley Cooper as Bruce Lee.

I work from home and listen to music all day, so instead of a car I have a sound system that costs as much as a decent car. Based on what I hear when listening to iceage I'd blame your laptop.

@avclub-7f4069db8c7d02ea9f8984a3962d5eef:disqus Pomegranates are not that impractical. Google "pomegranate wooden spoon" and learn a technique to deseed pomegranates in seconds without any mess. (It involves slapping a pomegranate with a wooden spoon, which feels oddly erotic ..)

@avclub-3be42d8a3412057f79af152555e39bd4:disqus I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it's because when the character is 17, you can cast a twenty something actress to play her. If the character was younger, you'd need to cast an actual teenager, which would probably be way more difficult.

Yeah, as long as this whole thing isn't properly explained it's about as meaningful as my new dadaistic tv power rankings. This week: New Girl: 7.8, Person of Interest: Purple, The Big Bang Theory: Puncture proof inner tube

Kvelertak is the best band I've ever seen live. And when I saw them I was sober and it was a monday show, so that's quite an achievement.

Funny episode and well directed one too. Football scenes looked better here than on many big budget films + the "betting on high school sports" montage was excellent.

It's perfectly normal that manly action films get middling reviews (at best) no matter how great they are. Punisher: War Zone has 27% freshness at Rotten Tomatoes, got a D from AV Club and despite all that it is an awesome film.

I'm not familiar with Kiss, but I'm a huge fan of the original Alice Cooper band and as far as they go, that statement is definitely true. It's no coincidence Johnny Rotten had to sing along to I'm Eighteen to get into Sex Pistols:
