I've honestly come to believe that beyond the xenophobia, racism, misogyny, homophobia, Islamophobia, etc., what conservatives of this stripe hate most is reality.

I kinda like it, too, actually. I remember watching a bit of it being filmed while on a road trip along I-90. If memory serves, it was filmed in Wallace, Idaho, whose other claim to fame is (was) having the only stoplight on 90 from Seattle to Boston.
