I was waiting for this, tbh, I didn’t own a PS2 anymore when this game out. I bought the game(+ a guide) and borrowed a PS2 but couldn’t/didn’t finish it despite leaving it with a good impression. Hoping for a Vita release.

Dramatic changes especially to the battle system sound perfectly fine to me. The story is the place where they shouldn’t change too much, except maybe for the mid-game pacing. A fresh take on a classic is exactly what SE needs to deliver or most people will secretly go “meh” while laudating the effort to modernize.
